Is this just what you are thinking or have you heard something else? I think August 28 is quite early.

I sent an email to Michael Nachtigal asking a few questions about the new CD, Sony Music, ten year contract and also about a possible live CD and DVD.

Question: Is there possibility of some live CD or DVD?
Answer: Shooting a live concert video Aug. 28, 2010.

BTW that DD that Journey put out was only sold @ Walmart and was Walmart's #1 selling CD for all of 2009. Their latest tour was also hugely successful all but a few of the 80+ dates were sell outs

Rumor has it that there will be a double LP, 8 track and reel to reel release. and a live video only available on 8mm film & beta cassette.

First 100 albums will be signed and will have one strand of GXV original hair included in the cover slip.

I cannot disclose my source, I was also told of a real life documentary starring Louie Weaver all I know is it's a comedy, and Louie basically paints the town.

It’s interesting how “cookie cutter” much of what is branded as Gospel Music has become. There are very few bands that have an edge now days. Once a band becomes popular it seems like everyone else out there makes every effort to get on the bandwagon with their particular ’sound’. When ironically, the reason a band becomes popular is usually that they have left the herd and become unique. For a while a harder edge music such as heavy metal was hitting main stream Gospel, then it was praise music. Bands like Casting Crowns & Mercy Me came out making praise music popular to the masses. These are two stellar groups which I find to be a breath of fresh air. But once again, so many others groups imitating their worship style have become redundant. I think it is an understatement to say new groups coming into the market would be much better off focusing on their own uniqueness than trying to fit in with what is popular at the time. Main stream music seems to be in the same boat. Every so often a song slips through that is actually original. The reunion of Petra is one of the bright spots out there right now that is guaranteed to add something fresh to the mix of unique and original artists. They will bring a bit of flavor back into the mix. http://www.classicpetra.com

Well, he made the post on the 2nd. Someone noticed on the 4th that the info was no longer there. That gives 2 days for him to quit or be fired.

PowerRock89.3 in Dallas/Ft Worth looked into the tour to see if it was feasible to bring ClassicPetra in, and they said at this time they are asking way too much for what and who they are, and being a nonprofit Christian Rock radio station its just not feasible at this time. I live in the area and would really like to seem them, but it looks like I might have to travel. Dallas has always been a huge market for Petra and they need to come here.
The Farewell Tour filled up a 3,500 seat church in Irving, so I know they can get something worked out.

I don't see too many concerts being feasible in the midwest. This region is just weak on many levels. It would take an act of God for most indie radio stations to be able to afford it. I don't think radio stations playing the top 20 albums from 2009 would be a viable option anyway:

Michael is managing and William Morris Entertainment is booking the gigs. This whole thing suddenly went up a notch.

You might keep in mind that not everyone has a background in or really understands how the biz works, Brent; there may be people who don't understand the significance of that. Just a suggestion.
