And the way things have gone I would say not really received much before the release date if at all.

I'm thrilled to death that the CD's will be shipped soon; even though I'll probably have to wait until June or July to get mine, seeing as how it takes forever for stuff from the States to get all the way up here!

The CDs will be sent out THIS WEEK. John's has them at home, signing & packing. Yes, it's cutting it very close but we can't help it. There were unexpected printer issues that delayed things...

"No special pre-release packaging?" No... that was never promised. The reward stated that you would get the CDs BEFORE anyone else. Which you will. Barely, yes, but the Crew members will get them early.

It would cost a fortune to do a run of 500ish specially packaged CDs. Not cost effective.... sorry....

I'm not meaning to be a stickler but what happens if some of us don't get our copies in the mail until Mon-Tues of next week, and everyone that is going to the Convention this weekend will have an opportunity to buy a copy? I'm actually fine with it because I know how this system works and there are always delays and such, but I am a stickler for promises and we were guaranteed a copy before anyone else.
To support your notion I'm thinking that most that will be attending the Convention are partners in the Kickstarter Program with John but what if there are some that are not and they are able to buy the CD before I and others have their guaranteed before anyone else copies? Just some thoughts on my part!!!

I know what you're saying... and that's totally understandable. We really did try our hardest to get these sent out before selling them... some things just can't be helped (without going into all the technical details about the delay).

I have an idea.... what if I put the packaging ONLINE on the Crew site? That way you can at least LOOK at things before anyone else... would that help?

It's a valid point. Mailing them out this late in the game, there is really no way to be sure that the crew will get them before non crew have the option to buy them, so for all intents and purposes, that promise has fallen through, however, I'm sure we understand there were complications. This is the first time John's ever tried to do something like this and I imagine he had a lot he had to learn about the process, so hopefully we can all forgive the inability to keep that promise. If another album is done this way, hopefully, they'll be more on top of things.

Just an idea to help those who might be upset about not getting their CDs before people do this weekend. When John signs the "crew" CDs he could add a tag that identifies them as being kickstater related or something, therefore setting them apart from the others that will be sold and delivered before them.

Having said that, I have been able to enjoy the music for months, and was able to have a part in getting a project done that will hopefully have far reaching eternal impact, and that is good enough for me. =)

I understand and all about the delay it seems there is always delays in the entertainment industry. If it was some secular artist that I was waiting for I'd probably be more forward about it and stand up and say my demands, but this is John and I understand on how him and Sue have worked their tales off to get all this done at the proper time, so someone that didn't donate to the Kickstarter program might get the CD before us; its not a big deal! Especially since they are on their way to our mailboxes as we speak. They will be here most likely by Monday and everyone will be happy.

Wasn't really expecting anything, but since pre-release in my collector's mind is connected with special packaging I guess I had this mixed up in my mind for a while.

I know. It would have been nice, but it was, like you said, never promised. So no complaints here. And even if the pre-release might not even arrive before the official release date, that doesn't really matter to me, since we've already got the downloads for over 4 months. But I would still like this very much:
