Hello everyone, this is John DeGroff. I'd like to let everyone know that the three original members of Petra (Hough, Glover, and DeGroff) will be playing together under the name GHF this Saturday, Aug. 28th in Hastings, Michigan. It's an outdoor gig for a town festival. The promoter is a Christian who wants two hours of music from us, half Christian material and half secular. We're going to be doing 6 old Petra tunes, some of GHF's Christian material, and covers such as some old Cream tunes we can jam on, along with some blues. For anyone who lives in Michigan, this would be a good opportunity to see three of the original guys playing together. Right now, we're not certain if we'll do this again anytime soon, but we have talked about the possibility of doing other shows together after the first of the year. If any of you can make it, please come up and say hello.

Where in Michigan is Hastings? How far is it from Fort Wayne, IN? If it in't too far a drive for me with my other obligations that day, I might be able to make it up. I had a great time at the Reunion in June, and would love to hear the old tunes again...
Blessings to you all,
Jen

Hooray!!! I am going to be headed towards this show
Just got a little more info straight from the horse's mouth (Thanks John!) They play at 9:30pm local time in Hastings. It will be an outdoor set, probably on a town square. He admitted he was a typical musician and that about all he knew was what time to be there...
Anyone else going?
Jen
ya know sue

shell and I ad a meeting and we also made a decision (beside of the one we told you about), we decide that we don`t need to wait for john to visit sheboygan for staying with you (lol), we would go no matter what band is playing (lolol) or even if there isn`t a band.
have you ever thought guys that we can make a convention in her livingroom by watching petra videos for a whole weekend ???? (or a good movie HAHAHAHA) UH, I bet you didn`t think in that

ok I hit reply by mistake

let`s pretend that petra won`t exist anymore (and also that all the ex band members and band members retired *touching wood*), are we gonna stop having reunions because of it?
ok this is a little bit out of topic hahaha, letps keep going with the original one.

Hehehe. Well, there wasn't an official meeting, but Elo and I decided we like Wisconsin and we want to go again. It was fun to have John there, but hey, he wasn't the only good thing about Wisconsin.

I would go just to get to see all the neat people I met when I was there last year.

Hey everyone! I will be headed towards Michigan in a little bit to go see these guys (3 hours or so each way LOL I must be crazy!). But at least I am not going alone, I found a friend to bring. If anyone else is going, look for me. I'll be in one of the current black Petra tour shirts, and if it cools off later, I will be in an 86 satin Petra tour jacket. I'll also have a few long colorful braids in my hair and possibly even a flashing star on my person somewhere! You won't be able to miss me
Hope to see some of ya there...

hehe, so you thought that three hours is crazy?
answer this.- do you think it is less crazy to drive five hours and take two planes of each hours each one for seeing John? because that`s what I have done twice from mexico to wisconsin hehe.

Yeah, believe it or not, I think about how your Dad must have felt letting you go so far away by yourself to meet people you knew only through the zone!! I bet you had to be at least a little bit nervous until you actually met Sue!

Guys, this show was AWESOME!, well worth the trip... I'd go see them play together again in a heartbeat if the decide to do so! They played a handful of Clapton, Muddy Waters, some other stuff, and like 6 or 7 old Petra songs. Off the top of my head: Without You, Sally, Backslidin' Blues, I'm Not Ashamed, Back to the Bible, and that one they never recorded which the title escapes me now...
EPDC: LOL we must all be crazy! I made a similar trip to Montreal once to go to a huge motorsports event with a pen pal I had never met before. Also had a friend from the Netherlands visit me for a convention for REO Speedwagon fans. Isn't it fun to travel for stuff like this?
