After listening to the whole darned thing, I think my favorite moments are Amazing Grace, Beyond Belief and the hot little jam that follows it, and Life As We Know It.

He Came He Saw He Conquered gets an honorable mention, as well.

I hope someone preserves this performance and makes it available to the rest of us losers!

I loved it of course. I just wished they would have played a few more songs!

I did a search on the internet and found software to take the "RM" file type and converted it to wav format (RoSoft Audio Recorder). It also allowed me to edit out commercials and brake it into tracks. Then I put it on CD using nero.
Now I can listen to it in my car.

I could send you something, but if you use this software and a little time, you could do it yourself. Give a try first and let me know.

we'll have it

Post by sue d. » Thu Oct 23, 2003 7:52 am

I plan on archiving the program eventually.

As long as the radio station has it archived, we'll just put a link to that site & save on bandwidth for now.

Ppraise - if you already have it edited and converted to .wav - would you mind lending it to jws.com to archive and put on the site?

Drop me an email and I'll give you directions on uploading if you are willing: [email protected]

The show

Post by String » Thu Oct 23, 2003 12:23 pm

I finally made it through the whole thing. I found myself fast-forwarding through the non-Petra stuff. I, too, didn't like the non-Petra part of it.....not my taste in music, I guess. But, the Petra part rocked. I found Paul's testimony great!!

I've had several requests on the process of converting this broadcast to WAV, so I posted some instructions on my website (www.petrapraise.com).
It's not too hard but it will take a while to complete. Good luck!

Why wave?

Post by String » Fri Oct 24, 2003 5:52 pm

If my memory serves me right, doesn't the .wav format mean a larger file? What would be the advantage of converting something to .wav?

Once you've converted it to WAV, you can burn an audio CD to play in any CD player. Like in your car, at work, etc...

Probably better to put it in MP3 or Ogg Vorbis format.

For those who aren't familiar with Ogg Vorbis, it's a relatively new format that's better than MP3 and not encumbered by patented algorithms, so it's legally a lot better. :)

If someone can put it in either format, send it over, and I'll mirror it.

Why not MP3?

Post by String » Fri Oct 24, 2003 7:57 pm

That was my next question. Why not MP3? It is a shorter format.

You might also mention to people that the free Rosoft program has spyware in it. (see viewtopic.php?t=172)

Micah, if you're running a Linux box, look up vsound and audacity. You can use vsound to capture audio from anywhere and audacity to edit it.
