I emailed Amazon.com yesterday to ask if they would release sales numbers for Jekyll & Hyde. The reply I received was that "We do not provide sales at this time due to the competitive nature of our business," which was obviously about what I expected. If you would like to read the rest of the email, which explains what their "sales rank" system means, you can visit http://www.guidetopetra.com/AmazonSalesRank.html.

I really don't think they are allowed to give those out unless they have permission from the correct owner of the copyright, in which I would assume would be Bob.

I know for a fact that soundscan will NOT let a store release sales figures. Believe me I've been trying to get updates for my local Christian stores on the JAH and all of them but one says they can not without permission. All that they will tell me is how many orders (30-60 copies) they have put in. My Mardel lets me know because I know the music manager there. His store in Plano has sold 226 copies of JAH as of last week. It's in the top ten of their sales. The last time I looked I believe it was #5. Each company has to pay SoundScan some kinda fees to release that info. I don't know all the legalities of this; I'm just telling you what these stores are telling me when I approach them.

Basically, if we want accurate sales figures, we need Inpop to cooperate.

Yes, that is true. Inpop needs to be the one to say how many.
