Why hasn't Petra made another "in concert" album :?: It's been almost 20 years since they made their one,and only one (Captured In Time & Space) they should have made another one or two by now. Hmmm :?

Money. Demand. Venue of substantial size to record it. All labels will tell you that, with a few exceptions, live records do not sell as well, because it is comprised of old material. Again, there are exceptions, but none of those have been recorded in the last 15 to 20 years.

Well, since it's almost the 20th anniversiry of "Captured In Time & Space"
it would be nice if they would re-release the album on a 2 CD set with all
of the stuff added back(For those of you who don't know for the CD version of "Captured In Time & Space" they had to edit out a lot of the stuff to fit the CD including the song "The Great I Am" it was done just for the album it has never been performed or re-recorded since.) also I think it would be kinda cool if they would re-release "Captured" on special edition vinyl record.

Re: Leonardo D's remarks...

Again, Brent is right...live albums do not, repeat, DO NOT sell well at all. For every KISS "ALIVE" or Cheap Trick "LIVE AT BUDOKAN" album that sells, there are thousands that do not. Heck, even such secular "headliner" bands like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath released live albums that tanked.

The "CAPTURED IN TIME & SPACE" album was released probably as a tribute/send-off for Greg X. Volz. He was leaving the band, and Bob gave him a "tip of the hat", so to speak, for his years as Petra's vocalist. And I will bet you that the album didn't do great, sales-wise.

Plus, there are so many "greatest hits" collections out there, released by their old labels without Petra's approval, for the sole purpose of squeezing the last drop of $$$ from Petra's name. To release a live CD now would be the epitome of "redundant".

John has also said that he would only do a live album if there were MORE people in the audience than at the first.
