While doing a bit of spring cleaning the other day, I came across a couple of my old journals. I haven't always been consistent in my journaling, but I was apparently fairly prolific back in 1993 and 1994. It is always a little bit amazing and a little bit embarrassing to go back and read what I was thinking those many years ago. But, one entry made me smile and I thought I would share it.
"February 14, 1993 -- Well as usual, I didn't get any candy, flowers or jewelry for Valentines Day, but that's OK. Today I received the greatest lover of them all when I finally asked Jesus into my heart and acknowledged Him as my Lord and Savior. There weren't any trumpets or confetti or any kind of supernatural jolts, but I feel so happy and peaceful that I finally did it. To be honest, I wanted to do it several weeks ago, but I felt sort of stupid. It seems embarrassing to have gone to Catholic schools for 12 years and to have gone back to church for the past 3 years and then find out that I'm not necessarily saved and that I really don't know who Jesus is. Well, all of that is about to change thanks to Christian musicians like Petra. The more I see of them, the more I admire their boldness and honesty. No one I know ever talks about Jesus out in public. And the freedom! I don't remember if it was Bob Hartman or John Schlitt that said in an interview that living your life being led by God was a wonderful way to live because it takes the pressure off. Wow, that will be different. Being Catholic is all about being under pressure! I've actually told people that I hoped that when I die that I don't go instantly so that I would have enough time to make a last minute confession. Sad. Well, I may not have everything worked out yet, but at least I know without a doubt now that I will be spending eternity with Jesus."
So, happy anniversary to me!

That's a good one Bridget, that is a cool Valentine's Day present. Hehe, I'm surprised Elo hasn't made her annual "I hate Valentine's Day" post yet.

I think it's another way for the card and candy companies to make money myself.

Yeah, that is pretty cool. It's a lot more important than some silly holiday isn't it?

What a neat post, Bridg!
I forgot about Elo's 'hate relationship' with V-day.... lol!
This is what you need to do: find a good friend, buy each OTHER candy & flowers, and go out to eat!
