Favorite Guitar Solos

Speaking of guitar solos, my favorite, among several, is the one in Judas Kiss. I think it's one of Bob's best on all counts... except as with most of his solos, it could be a bit longer. But I find myself playing this solo a few times every time I listen to the song.

By the way, I like the concept of the song, where instead of normal guitar riffs, Judas Kiss is based on the familiar lead intros throughout. I wonder why hasn't Petra done this more often?

Also, I love the guitar solos in Rose Colored Stain Glass Windows. They are some of the best Bob has ever done in my opinion.

Yes those 2 rank right up there, and also I like Whole World; That solo gives me the chills. It just flows so good in the song.

Here are what I believe to be the "Essential Bob leads", But not in any certain order:

Mine feild
Counsel of the holy
Midnight Oil
Last Daze
He Came, saw, conquered
Pied Piper
Angel of light
Never say die

These IMO, combine the best of technique and melodics. I like many more, but to me, these seem the coolest.

I like a lot of midnight oil. this solo is so great, this music is so great.
But, the beyond belief solo is so expressive its harmony is so....I have no words to express....

"Think Twice" is the only other song I can think of, besides "Judas Kiss," that is based around the lead riff.

Don't forget the small but powerful guitar solo in "Creed". One riff who make me Petra Fan,

There's alot of great ones out there. I always liked that one part of "Mine field" when Bob slides down the guitar. I'm also Partial to "Judas Kiss".

Yes, Adrinux, Beyond Belief is the quintessential Petra song in many ways, including the guitar bridge/solo. Most of those mentioned by others are also good.

It's not very long as guitar solos go, but my favorite is in "Get on Your Knees" from This Means War.

Some of my favorite solos would be from Pied Piper, Occupy (yea believe it or not), I Love The Lord (its really short, but still really good), Get On Your Knees And Fight Like A Man, and Sight Unseen. To name a few ;)

I really liked the solo intro on Underground from Beyond Belief.

It's really simple, but really clean and crisp.

lots of powerful guitar solos Bob Hartman has given us.
Midnight Oil, I Love The Lord, Creed, Seen And Not Heard, the short solo/bridge right after "life you can never loose" on Good News... and lots of other solos.
but i still think the most "chill up your spine" solo is on Hit You Where You Live.
just wait until the "whooooa - whooooaaaa" when John doubles with the guitar.... and feel the chill up your spine.
