The Petra Zone

Jus don't made a bad idea of me.
I'm sad about this retirement of Petra? Petra means something to me?
Just let me say a few things: I grew up listening Petra, just like almost all Petheads, since 1989 I bougth every album, present and past. Just like all Petheads, I have more than 1000 photos of the band, recovered from the net, in my computer. I give my wife our compromise ring with "Not of this world" song in the background. When my younger brother, in 2001, died, The Lord hold me every day with Petra Praise II, We Need Jesus. And when my recent baby born, we proudly call him: XAVIER, just like the second name of Greg X Volz, a spanish name.
Oh, I'm so deeply sad today.

Yeah, it is sad and I can so understand your heavy heart. You have some beautiful memories with songs from the band. Wow, that's cool with the promise ring you gave your wife.....

The good thing is......the songs are in your heart, you will always be able to listen to them. Just imagine if there wouldn't have been a PETRA.
We have been blessed, so blessed by them and this is what we can always praise and thank our Lord for.

The ministry of the people in PETRA is not over.....John will continue to sing.......and I'm sure we'll see the others be involved in some kind of ministry also.

I know that's not much of a consolation when your heart hurts, but we need to remember to thank God for the blessings that PETRA brought to all our lives. There's just about a PETRA song for every occasion in life, hehe..... . It's wonderful memories that we've been given, we have deveolped friendships because of this Band......God accomplished much through them - and will continue through each individual member as now their ministry focus has changed.

PETRA's music has been much of an inspiration to me and will continue to be. John's vocals have always been a challenge for me to master and I've learned and grown because of it. I've been influenced musically by them and WOW, what an awesome touch they have been in my life!
So I know exactly what you are saying and I know so many of us here on this zone feel the same way. We all have been touched in some way and we all could tell stories.......
