I'm glad this was done. I have a feeling if it had waited for something to go up on the official site, we may have been waiting for a long time.

It hurts alot but we still have there music. Because of Petra, that is why my wife and I started our own internet station. It makes me more determine to make it bigger and better so that Petra will never be forgotten as well as other christian bands who had to retire. Praise God I get to see them twice at the end of the month.
One of our dreams was to have The Right Place sponsor a Petra concert here in Lancaster, Ca. Well a better get moving huh!!!!

It sure is nice to here John saying that he does intend to continue doing music. I enjoy the two solo albums he has done a bunch and seeing more coming from him, while it may not be Petra, will be fun.

I'm glad you liked the words, Artur. It had to be one of the most difficult newsletters to write. I went through a few revisions with John before the final version "went to press."

I don't know... if there is a signed and deposited contract for Argentina, I'm sure it will be honored.

Yeah, I know - I do need to change that, especially now. There's always a chance of a live album...it would be a great way to go.

Oh, DEFINITELY fun! I really love his albums and the other work he's done on special projects like "Re:newal," "Welcome to the Revolution," and "Project Damage Control."

I've heard his 3rd album too... while it's not completed yet, I really, really liked what I heard!

naceman, have you ever seen him at a solo concert?

Yes... THANKS, Sue. I think everybody was on pins and needles after Josh dropped the bomb earlier this week. Heaven only knows how long it will be until something appears on PetraBand.

You are welcome. I figured it would take some time for anything to appear on petraband.com.... I knew we had to put out something from John confirming this (and that way I don't have to personally answer a slew of emails asking if the announcement is true).

long lost friend

My first Christian tape was "Beat the System". I quickly bought all the past tapes and continued to buy every new release through the early 90's. I then became disconnected with music in general (not my faith, just contemporary music). Just today I thought I would see if my favorite band was still around. I was thrilled to see Bob and John on the website, but was then greatly sadend to see on John's sight that the band is calling it quits. I understand they need to move on with thier lives (they're not the Stones), but it is hard to imagine the the band that has been around my entire Christian life is not going to be there in any current form.

I will miss you guys very much. Your music and ministry have been a huge influence in my Christian walk, and in my own music carreer. I won't give up my dream to jam with the band though.
