I had never really listened to Christian music before, even though I was a Christian. However I became a Head East fan several years ago (I was born in 1977, and am a second generation fan you could say). Anyway I found out that John was in Petra, and immediately found God Fixation, and then several other Petra CD's, Shake, Unfit for swine, etc.
I have seen Head East a couple times, once in Ferguson MO and last October in Centralia IL. I talked to Roger Boyd (the keyboardist) before the show and he was extremely nice and talked to me for several minutes. I hope that one day John gets a chance to perform in the St.Louis/southwest IL area. A lot of the original Head East fans from the 70's are now Christians (my Mom for example). My Mom had no idea John was even in Christian music until she started listening to it around 1996 and right away recognized John's voice on the radio. (I believe the song was God is Too Big)
My thanks to John Schlitt...

Nice story, Matt.
A few years ago, when "Revival" came out, I started contacting the Head East fans to let them know that John was still out there, singing with Petra and solo.
Many of them didn't really know what he did, and so Brother Tom, Drew Willis and I started corresponding and cross-posting. It's been a real good thing, and has introduced Petra to Head East fans, and Head East to Petra fans.
John has played in IL a number of times in the past few years.... you'll have to make a road trip!
