The Petra Zone

This hit me earlier when I was at work. Petra is leaving after 33 years, the ministry was based on Scripture, they have been mocked and ridiculed, just some interesting observations. Jesus said upon this Rock I will build my church(he was referring himself the chief cornerstone). Well Petra has built their ministry on the ROCK for 33 years and without compromise. Gods ways are higher than mans, but it sure is neat to look at how God use scripture paralells.


Praise YAHWEH!

And Jesus was roughly 32-33 years old when He went to the Cross.

You know, I was thinking last night - when we had our Petra concert here in 1998, we had protesters outside the hall, saying it was bad music and people shouldn't go in.

I heard about that in the '70s and '80s, but the LATE '90s??

Persecution is a sign that you are a force to be reckoned w/. I feel like that's the main reason we have not seen as many christian artists lately that have a boldness for christ(i am sure there are a few somewhere)..Like Petra does. Persecution is never fun... but that is a mark of a true believer. Many people want to be comfortable while they enjoy all the blessings of being a christian...but I have to give Petra respect for the fact that they have never comprimised w/ their music...when it would have been so easy to do so for the money and status. They did what was right! That to me is a great legacy...one that they should be proud of!

Well, la-di-dah, Mr. Carlozzo, not everyone needs pretentious metaphor, sometimes you need the bare-bones truth.
