Add Your Thoughts

Cathy and I have posted our thoughts about Petra in light of the retirement on a new page at the Guide:

http://www.guidetopetra.com/tributes.html

I've also set it up so you can post your own thoughts. For the next few days I'm going to leave it open and basically unmoderated, but please do go through the email confirmation step, because eventually I will make it so that only posts which have been "confirmed" by you and "approved" by me will appear.

Write as long as you want... each tribute will have its own page.

I've also turned the Guide gray temporarily.

Hey guys!

It has been really neat to read the tributes that have already been posted. I hope more will continue to post...I would love to print them out sometime and make them into a book...maybe give a copy to the band when we see them again! It is just so neat to hear about all the experiences other people have had...and to see the ways that God has blessed you all through their ministry! So keep on postin! :D

good idea

Hey, that's a good idea! We're going to do everything we can to get to see them at least once before they quit playing live, and when we do, I'll print out whatever is posted and give the guys (at least John and Bob) copies.

I wrote a shockingly long post, I'm afraid...I couldn't resist! I'll probably regret it in the morning... I wonder if I can edit it though, as I forgot to put the paragraph breaks in it and it looks like a big run-on sentence. d'oh.

Thanks for giving us a somewhat permanent place to say something (better than a forum I mean). I loved reading the other tributes.

Edit

Right now I don't have any way set up to edit, but since this is the second request I've had so far, I'll get to working on that. :)

I was going to suggest deleting mine so I could write it again, but I see it is nicely formatted now! Thanks!! :D

Hehe. Mine is nicely formatted too, but you forgot to change the dates for when I first saw John with Petra to 1987 or 1988. So I'm
picky. :D :)

I love yours and Cat's stories...The part where Cat talks about her spelling mishap with "Schlitt" on your message board cracked me up. :)

Elo,

If you read up about three posts you will learn that I have not yet set up a way to edit posts. :)

This past weekend I tweaked the code a bit so it does display breaks between paragraphs, so that's probably part of the reason things look nicer. I also sent out an email to everyone who has posted on the Guide who hasn't told me they don't want to get any emails from me... I seldom do so, but I thought everyone would want to know about this, even people who are out of the loop.

There are several more posts now, including one from a bonafide former Petra member! :o Sorry about not making your edit yet, Shell... I'll get it done soon, or get something set up so you can fix it yourself.

Thank you Michael. :) Hey, it's cool a former member put his tribute in there. 8)

There are actually quite a few up now. Six of them that you see right now, you probably won't see for too much longer... they haven't done the "confirm" step and I'm going to have to hide them until they do. :( So if anyone on the Zone has posted but not done the confirm, let me know! Especially if you've never received the confirmation email; you may have gotten your own email address wrong. ;)

Moving

You guys have GOT to read this one. It took a little editing to get it so it could be read smoothly, because obviously it is written by someone to whom English is a second language, but the stuff is there. I think this is one of the most moving ones I've read so far.

Wow, very cool!
Petra has touched many lives - soo many we may not ever know of!
That's just to show that if we are faithful - great will be our reward!
