Interview with John Schlitt

Last week I interviewed John. In it he touches on almost all topics, including things oft-discussed here: the possibility of a mega-reunion and whether they will play the new songs in concert.

It's a good interview. They obviously feel it was time and are comfortable with their decision.
Well...

How terribly disapointing to hear that the live album is a long shot at best. I think that was the one hope that so many of us were still looking for. It's really a shame that Bob doesn't sound more interested in doing it independently. I wonder if he realized just how much it would mean to the Petra fans to have something like that?

the only thing i didn`t like was the comment about louie.
I`m not mad at john either at louie, don`t get me wrong, i`m just sad to see they won`t be friends again ya know, after all these years of being on tour ya know...

John was saying he didn't have any hard feelings against Louie. He said there was only one former member he didn't consider a friend anymore and that it's not Louie. I think we all have at least one person we wouldn't be in a hurry to see again.

Excellent job (as usual) Josh.
It appears John is resigned to the fact rather than truly accepting.
Although they (and we) should be praising God for the time they had, its still hard to let go.
Now Everybody!!!
" and friends are friends forever, when the Lord of Lord is hosts..."
Sorry, I couldn't think of an appropriate Petra song!

Oh, come on - no Petra song? Dontcha know there's a Petra song for EVERY occasion!
how about:
Everybody has to say their good-byes
While they wipe away the tears from their eyes
Everybody bids a fonder farewell
When they know there won't be any sequel...

Almost without exeption, if a song has the word friends in the title, it is a terrible song.
It's like the curse of jewel titled books.
AAAAHHHHHH

Nice interview.
I feel like I am attending a year long wake here!

Nothing to do with the posts, simply my feelings about the retirement) I hope I get a chance to see them one last time. I would love to make it to the last show of the year. Hopefully an official list will be made available with plenty of notice so fans can arrange for air fare.

I doubt John or Louie spend very much time on the Internet, which is probably wise of them.

I can see how you thought he was saying that though, that can happen if you read too fast.
Kenny Marks song about Friends was a good one...I think it went:
Friends will go anywhere with you, friends share the good and the bad, the times I've shared with my best friends are the best times I ever had.
Songs about friends are supposed to be mushy and corny, hahahahahaha.
