The Rose o' Sharon

In the song King's Ransom, one of the references to Jesus is "The Rose of Sharon" - what does that mean> :?:

It is a reference from Song of Solomon. Some people have interpreted this poem in a little more tame manner than usual-as an allegory of the love of God for his people.

There's a flowering tree/shrub that you can pick up at any nursery or even Wal-Mart called the Rose of Sharon - it's also called an Althea or hybiscus

I've had a couple of them -they come in a variety of colors and bloom all season.
