The Petra Zone

Blessings to all fellow PetHeads. It is a tremendous privilege in having the opportunity to announce that "Prairie Fire Concerts" - a nonprofit promotions agency in Cheyenne Wyoming and myself, Brother Kurt Schanaman - founder of the Free Church of Christ Ministries in Scottsbluff, Nebraska - have teamed up to launch one of the largest efforts in the U.S. to bring Petra to a central location where the majority of the Central part of the country will be capable of seeing Petra one final time before their retirement is concluded.

If you live in any of the states surrounding Cheyenne, Wyoming - even if you are willing to drive 12 - 14 hours from a state further away... we are waiting to hear from you!

We are in the process of doing a nation-wide demographics survey to determine just how many of you would be willing to attend a Petra event which is designed to draw Petra fans from all over and to congregate in one place for one massive Petra furor-of-a-concert! In this way, we can know exactly which venue to lease out for the event, providing adequate seating arrangements for all who are willing to sacrifice for the Petra guys in return for all the sacrifices they have made for all of us out on the road over the past 33 years of truly awesome musical ministry.

Thanks for your email... I am adding you to our list of those willing to "drive the exra mile" to come and see Petra live in concert in Cheyenne, WY (or Denver CO, depending on where we will find a venue with adequate seating arrangements) on their final farewell tour!

Strangely, we've only received 3 responses to my urgent message over a 24-hour period. We are praying that the response to this effort increases over the next few weeks.

Memorial Day may not have been the best day to post and expect a snowstorm of responses! It could be that a lot of people were at some lake or otherwise enjoying the holiday... we went to a cemetery where they have over 2,000 flags that are casket flags that have been donated by the families of servicemen.

It also could be that the Petra fans who are on this board consider the trip to be too long for them... we are in Tulsa, OK, and that would be like a 12-hour drive for us.
