My PETRA Story...to Say GoodBye

Gee...where do you begin...If it was not for Petra, my introduction to Christian music either may have been postponed or never happened.
My first cassette tape of Christian music was Petra's "Beat The System".
I wore that thing out! Then when I heard they had a new singer, I thought oh boy here we go....CHANGE.....nobody likes that after you're used to something....but I managed.

Petra came to Evansville, IN, which is where John lived for a brief time, and went to church. Anyway, they were here for the Back to The Street Tour...Evansville was the 1st stop on the tour. I got to meet John, Mark, Bob, Louie and Johnny, Wow!!! I thought I had done something! I got to meet and hang out with Petra! I was only in the 5th grade at the time.
Our church had brought them in, and wqe helped set-up for the concert. We talked to John and hung out back stage and just had a real good time!

But the thing that stuck with me, is that MONTHS later, John spoke at a breakfast with the Full Gospel Business Mens meeting, and I went of course...but I want you to know that John remembered me....even after touring all over the place, he remembered who i was, and still does to this day...he'll say...."Don't I know you?"....It was so good to get to participate in the ministry of Petra...they have touched so many, and will never know the capacity in which they reached people.

Oh...and one more thing....I got to pray with them when they were here for the Wake up Call tour. THAT was cool. I got to drive the band around, I enjoyed that.

So I say thank you to Petra for all the music, the fun, the joys, the ministry, but most of all being REAL and showing God to this world.
God bless you and hope the best for all.

Yeah, when you're working, playing in a band, working, and trying to raise a family, did I mention working? My time on the "net" is a little far and few between. But I am a Pethead to the core, so I have to drop in whenever I find time...however this time, I dropped in and was taken back...but i wll manage.....thanks!

Who's X-Sinner. I've never heard of them. Guess I was too Petrafied, hehe.

Yeah, nothing beats 80's rock! That was good headbanging music! And yes, I do like some of the new music too........

X-Sinner was a band that the Elefante's produced in the early 90's. They sounded a whole lot like AC/DC.

Go to http://www.reignradio.com
and see if the article is still on their front page. It sounds as if they are working on 2 new CD's.
