There's been topics before about your favorite Petra song or album, but what about one line or phrase from a particualr song. Mine is from Fool's Gold off the Back to the Street. "I'd rather be a fool in the eyes of man than a fool in the eyes of God." Powerful line. I'd like to know your thoughts.

in my case would be mmmmmm

There`s a line over the horizon, though I don`t know what lies ahead, I`ll trust that you be there...

I keep saying to myself every single day, if God weren`t there at the end life would be an scary road for me...

Wow! Neat question. I'm sure there are many, but the first one that came to mind was:

"cause I don't know if I would even if I think I could, if I had to die for someone"

The line from "Over The Horizon" is a good one. I also like "He came, He saw, He conquered death and hell," "Get on your knees and fight like a man," and "There's a higher place to go...Beyond belief." 8)

"We'll remember them for now, but not then"

........ from "Hello Again" off of "God Fixation"

Talk about a profound and yet twisted statement... I love it.

This is the one that I remember daily, I am always singing this phrase in my head. I haven't listen to this song in probably two years.

Nothing in the Heavans or earth can stand against a fervant prayer of a righteous man

One of my faves, and the first one I thought of, is the line from Underground

Bring on the lions and heat up the fire
It's not enough to stop this man's desire.

I really like the imagery there.

Underground rawks!

If I Had to Die for Someone:

And if I try each day to save my life in every way I can
How could I understand the way
You died for me

Just Reach Out:

Because the One who hears you when you pray
Is the One who's there beside you
And He'll never walk away

Best line from John Schlitt to my Husband:

"Have you ever had your head examined?" :-)

More Power to ya when your standing on His Word when you're trusting with your whole heart in the message you have heard

There are so many to choose from!

I thought of another good one as I was working on the CIP piece for Adonai:

When the storms surround me speak the word that they will be still
This thirst and hunger is a longing only you can fill

I've always liked this one, though its not even one of my favorite songs :

Dead Reckoning

On a hill long ago, where the blood runs below
Died a king, two thieves and you

How about:

"What are lookin' for the devil for when you ought to be looking for the Lord" back masked at the beginning of Judas Kiss.

O.K. so maybe it's not worthy of being a favorite, but it was fun at the time it came out.

One of my favorites has always been "Get on your knees and fight like a man. You'll pull down strongholds if you just believe you can."

However, I always thought it would be more theology accurate to say,
"You'll pull down strongholds if you just believe HE can." That would preserve the paradox between our action and God actually being the one that accomplishes what we do.

So many great lyrics to choose from. One that comes to mind at this moment (and there are so many others) is from Just Reach Out:

Just reach out and He'll reach in
Take your broken heart and make it whole again.
It don't matter who you are or where you've been
Just reach out and He'll reach in.

You say you've walk 10,000 steps away.
But don't you know that He's only one step back
Because the One who hears you pray
is the One who's been beside you and He'll never walk away.
