Kentucky Petheads Unite!

Ladies and Gentlemen...our prayers have been answered!
I have learned that Petra will be a part of the Soul II Soul concert and television taping event being held at Okolona Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Evidently, this will be broadcast on a religious channel sometime down the road.
The only negative thing about this news is that I'm sure they won't have a huge amount of time to perform since there are several artists on the bill, but, hey...beggars can't be choosers.
For more info, go to WJIE.org and click on the concert link on the top of the page.
Another bonus for me is that Randy Stonehill will be playing there as well. I've ALWAYS been a big fan of his music (oh, oh...I bet I'm showing my age by saying that.) Anywhoo...as far as I know, he's never been this close to my neck of the woods before, so I'm pretty excited!
But...getting back to Petra...
I still plan on catching them in Grove City, OH and/or Ft. Wayne, IN later this year.
So...LexingtonPethead....SolidRockStrength...anyone else within shouting distance of the Bluegrass state (actually it's a Commonwealth, whatever that means) here's your chance to see the boys in all their glory.
Sweet

I am way in for the grove City Ohio concert. It is only 4 hours from Danville, Ky according to yahoo maps. Which I think will be pretty accurate. I am really pumped about this one, this one should fit my schedule pretty well. I am turning in the vacation day tomorrow!
I tried the Wjie web site and it just wouldn't come up. I'll try again later.
Thanks for the information.
Here's what I know...

Hey there SRS...
the wjie.org site is down right now, but if I remember correctly the concert/taping is on Friday, August 26th at 7pm til ?
From what I can recollect, the bill includes Petra, Randy Stonehill, Newsong, Bryan Duncan, Jaci Valezquez (sp?) and one or two others.
If you want to check out the church and get directions to it, try
okolonacc.org. They don't have anything on their website as of yet, but tickets go on sale next Sunday at the church. I believe the Wellspring Bookstores here in Louisville are also selling tickets.
Hope you can make it!
I don't think I'm going to Fogfest since it's a little farther away than the Grove City/Ft. Wayne concerts for me. Plus with other artists on the bill, I would rather see Petra all by their lonesome. Maybe I'll catch you and your wife at one of these shows. Take care.
Here's all the info...

Hey Johnathan,
Where are you located? Are you far from Louisville?
It would be great to get as many Petheads there as possible.
Hope you can make it!

I have already purchased my tickets for the Louisville concert.
I was an easy sale for the Gold circle tickets, up close seating and backstage pass and they are 25 dollars each. From the advertisement I listened to on hold when I called Okolona Christian Church, Petra is THE main draw for that night. So they should get to play quite a bit hopefully.
Hope to see you there!

I will be there also, just bought the tickets for me and a friend. I used to live in Louisville, so I'm still sort-of a Kentucky PetHead!

Now we're talkin'...

Wow! The Newsong Festival was the first time I ever saw Petra in concert too! I think it was in 1992 or 1993. It was an incredible concert, and needless to say, I was hooked!
I too will be at the Louisville show. I have short dark brown hair, wear glasses and I am short and round.

Newsong! There is a guy there that does a lot of praise stuff there, his name is Jeff Calhoun. Great guy I know him he might remember me He knows Mike and Pam Kreci, My name is Johnathan Elam.Never been there though. I first saw Petra in like the 70's at Ichthus, wow man i am getting old. But not too old cause i really don't remember the show! Lol. We need to figure out some way to tell who everyone is so we can meet in Louisville,so we can have some kind of Pethead row or something,we could not afford the high dollar stuff though. I guess it is general seating.
