I suppose the first time you ever listened to this song you turned the volume way up to hear the quiet stuff before the band suddenly plays their first two chords?

Yea, it probably caught me off guard the first time. Can't remember. What I've always thought was weird was how low the keyboard is in the mix.

I can't say that it did. But then again, some of us grew up listening to Pink Floyd do things like throw ringing alarm clocks into the middle of otherwise quiet songs.
It's not the first song on the CD, didn't you already have the volume adjusted?
On a note that is barely related, it did take me awhile to hear the quiet talking at the end of the Unseen Power CD.

I went and listened to it again today. I cranked it waiting for the very low volumed intro and then BOOM. Wasn't suprised, but it had been awhile since I had heard it. The song still rocks!

If I am listening to it in the car I turn it way up and just wait for it to hit. I still jump to this day.
