The Petra Zone

Okay, guys... I've hacked something up for the convenience of those going to the show. It's at:

If you would like for everybody to know how to find you, you can put in when you'll be arriving, what hotel you're staying in, and any other comments you'd like to add about your plan. There is a place to put your Petra Zone ID and your actual name so people will know who to look for. You will have to put something in before you can "view" other people's plans because you have to establish a password. The password can be your Petra Zone password if you like; it is encrypted in the database so nobody, not even me, will know it, but feel free to use something else if you like. The view page should be printable, but I'll make another Print version of it before the weekend so folks can print the whole thing if they want.

Use it, or not. It's just for everybody's convenience. Once the show is over I'll clear out the data and it'll all be gone. Do remember that this stuff IS being displayed on the Internet, so post cell phone numbers, home addresses, etc. with caution (actually, DON'T post those things). It's probably spammer-proof, so if you really want to post an email address you can, but your Petra Zone ID is clickable so people could contact you through the Zone anyway.

At the moment I haven't made it so you can edit your stuff after you put it in; if you need to make changes email me. Or, just get it right the first time.

How does this sound? What if we wear name tags with our Petra Zone ID and name so that other fans know who we are when we get to the concert.

It doesn't look like everything is working quite right. I will not be arriving in TN on December 31.

This is a great idea, though, to help get everyone together.

Hmm... I don't know exactly what's happening; I put my information in through the form and it came out OK. Make sure you put it in exactly how the example is. I'll switch it to a selector thing later.

Until then, PM me with the REAL date and time is and I'll fix the existing records.

I've revamped the date and time thing. It really can convert many kinds of text dates, but I guess you three just found the ones it couldn't figure out right. Now there are drop-downs for the day and time. Let me know what you want on your three records and I'll fix 'em for ya!

About a dozen or so people have checked in already! I also added Franklin weather, Nashville gas prices, and a countdown to show time to the "view" page, just for fun.

Boy I wish I was going. This will be the ultimate Petra concert of all time, and their also recording it!!!!!!!!

Hello fellow Petheads...I am a newbie, but I used to belong to this forum a few years back. I am traveling from SC. This is a once in a lifetime thing for me to be able to attend this Event. I have followed Petra since 1984 or so. Been to many concerts throughout the years, but have gone through a drought the past 8 or so. So when I got that confirmation....I was so excited about it. Than I began to think about how I am going to be able to finacially get there. Thanks to a loan from my brother, I have been provided some extra $$ to make the 8 hour trip. Hope to meet those fellow petheads who are going to make the trip.

I can't believe that only calicowriter, RockOn, crossways, petrapraise, elo, greba, abuelito, brothertom, and Cat and I are going to this thing. Let me explain a little more. You can put in a few pieces of information about your plans, and then other Petheads can view it and even print it. That way we'll have an idea of what you're going to do. Some of us might even wind up in the same hotels! Here's what the output looks like:

Petra Zone member: Michael (real name is Michael)
Hotel: Baymont Inn - Franklin
Arriving: 9:00pm Monday, Oct 3rd
Ticket confirmed?: Y
We're staying until Wednesday morning. We may do some sightseeing Tuesday morning... there is an Antebellum home in Franklin, and we want to go to the Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville if we get a chance.

The printout page has this information for everyone who signed in. Come on, put in your stuff! You don't have to fill in everything if you don't want to, anyway.

Others probably will probably just meet us there and don't want to sign-in.

Well, that's true... but it's fun to know ahead of time.

I agree it is fun to know ahead of time. Are we going to try and meet before or after the concert?

Maybe for dinner before or dessert after? Or maybe brunch in the AM on the 5th?

Yes I was tturner....it was a long time since I was on here and I couldn't remember my login so I changed my name. tomtsc and tturner are one in the same person....lol
