I had heard it was out of print and someone posted that copies are going for tonnes of money on ebay-mine cost me like 5 dollars-worth every penny. I love that album.

I think you can download it in iTunes, and it's probably cheaper than ebay or Amazon.com.

I bought mine(Petra74) through amazon. It cost me a pretty penny too, but it was very worth it. About 4000 pennies.

Errr...wow. I would never have guessed that it would be that hard to find. Weird. To me, it's the most normal thing - I would've thought you could have just walked to your local Christian bookstore and bought it, but I guess maybe not.
Maybe they'll have it for sale at their concerts.
I didn't search very long and hard, but his was the best price I could find:

Just buy the individual songs from Christian Book, download 'em, and burn your own copy. You could do that for 99 cents per song and have it today.
http://www.GuideToPetra.com/P and click one of the "buy wma" links and you should be able to take it from there.

That's sweet that you can buy individual songs for download at Christianbook.com, but their selection is rather limited. Anybody know of any other good sites where you can buy music in the download way?

I had my cd for about 10 years and then had to rebuy it. I keep immaculate care of my CDs...is anyone else having this problem? Like having to rebuy...makes me miss tapes almost.
Almost.

I keep mine stored in a cool dry place in my home office. No one in my family is aloud to touch without permission.

What the heck are you talking about?! Tapes wear out MUCH faster than CDs. They get eaten too. And CDs can be preserved on the old hard drive as .wav files or MP3s! Or you can burn them to CD-R and listen to the perfect digital copy while keeping the original locked in the vault.
Boo! Down with tapes! And when I say that, I'm speaking as someone who once owned several hundred that I spent a fortune re-buying on CD!

I have all my Petra CDs ripped to mp3 at 390kpbs for backup purposes (and so I can have them with me at all times without endangering the discs). The only ones I'm missing are the latest praise compilation and War and Remembrance. I'll pick up the former one of these days, and the latter I keep bidding on on eBay. I believe I have essentially everything else that has been released, based on comparing the multitude of Petra discographies.

I'm doing the MP3 thing too, except I have them ripped at a humble 192kbps. I justified a 60GB hard drive MP3 player to myself (and somehow to my wife too) and I carry all the Petra albums (and almost every other album I own too) around with me everywhere I go.
The great thing is, I don't need to spend the little money I have left on any of the "greatest hits" or compilation albums (especially since none of them actually have any new tracks on them). I can make them myself in the form of virtual playlists.
In fact, when I went out to Christianbook.com after it was mentioned, I noticed that those smashed together medleys from Power Praise and Rock Block et al albums can be downloaded for .99 each. Now I can even have those buggers to complete my playlists of those albums without spending cash to buy songs I already own!
Sweetness.

True enough. The only reason I have them is for the sake of collecting, as Petra is by far my favorite band/artist of all time... and maybe that makes me a nerd... at least according to my wife.
