North Carolina Concert - AWESOME

Post by mummau55 » Fri Oct 07, 2005 7:10 am

I posted this on Petra Rocks My World too. I'm too sleepy now to be original. Photos will be forthcoming after sleep...

Hey Everyone,

Well nothing amazing as far as the numbers that turned out. It was a rainy, dreary night which spelled doom for walk-up ticket sales. Too bad for anyone who stayed home

Solid Ground - The group from Wilson, NC rocked the stage and opened things up with some great southern rock.

Bread of Stone - Be prepared for these guys. They are GREAT! They have incredible stage presence and won over this Petra audience quickly. In person, they are genuine, Godly guys who are definitely here for the right reasons. I count it a privilege to have met them.

Sarah Brendel - Without a doubt, this girl is headed up. She is quiet and humble in person but on stage she is outgoing and bursting forth with praise through her music. That German accent had these southerners focused on her every word!

Farewell June - Funny, personable, and authentic. The show that these guys put on was great. Their support of everyone else in the lineup was what really amazed me. These guys are servants on a level that humbled me. Their music really spoke to me as well

Petra - My words would be incapable of describing what it felt like to hear Bob Hartman break into "Judas Kiss", to hear the familiar pound of "It Is Finished", or to rock to "Jekyll & Hyde" at my very own church. It was incredible. In the time they spent on stage, I was taken on a journey through my spiritual life as each song distinctly brought back memories of years past. Petra was so interactive with the crowd and so grateful for the opportunity to share these last days with the fans.

Burlington, NC was treated to probably one of the greatest concerts that has ever been performed in this area. It's a shame that a little rain kept people away...and yet...as I drove Paul back to the hotel, he said he couldn't help but feel he'd been at a family reunion jamming with his close friends and family. This thought was echoed by John and Bob. Everyone was in the "Right Place"

If you have a show coming to your town or anywhere near...GO!

It's funny but I do the same thing, I've seen every tour(some multiple times) since Never Say Die(i was 11 when i saw my first) This is 41 Petra shows in all and when they play certain songs I always think about when I first heard that song or me running to the store to pick up my copy on release day. The only albums I didn't get on or before release day were

I know what you mean...it was kind of hard standing there Tuesday night in Frankiln watching them....for the last time. I remember when John first joined Petra. He was going to a church here where I live. They came here for the first concert on the Back To The Street Tour. WOW! I had never been to a real good Christian rock concert...that was my first. And I have been hooked ever since, and that was 85?? I think...But getting to know John and Petra was a neat experience. KNOWING the band....to me...helps me relate when I listen. But I remember my Petra moments...they were Beyond Belief!
