I was just curious if this might be a double CD set. How or can they fit all of this concert on one CD? Any information on that??

I've been hoping for that, but haven't seen any info to that nature. It really doesn't cost that much more to put together a double CD.
Also I was thinking that maybe they could do a double DVD and put the preshow stuff and interviews one and the concert on the other. It would also be nice to have all the former videos released to DVD sometime in the near future.

and if they are going to go ahead and release the former video's on dvd they might as well release citas also
I know we have beat this horse to death, BUT
since Inpop is going to release the dvd of this concert how much work would it be extra to buy the rights to citas and include it.
Inpop could really release an incredible set!

That has occurred to me, and I'll bet it's occurred to many others as well. I don't think it will happen at initial release of the DVD, and I'll tell you why... nobody wants the old concert to somehow eclipse the new one, or for the current show to somehow pale in comparison to the other. I think that's unlikely, but it's possible, and I doubt that Inpop (or Bob, or John, or whoever has a say in this) is willing to risk it.
Now, it could be that they will release it and if it does well, later do a second DVD release including the old concert as well in a bonus DVD. I'd buy it twice for that!

Unless one of the band members had the rights or (inpop), I don't see another record company doing that. But stranger things have happened.
Will the concert fit on one CD?

Those of you that were able to go do you think the main concert would fit on one CD? If not, what will they cut out? I heard from inpop publicity that it will not be a double CD.

Heres my 2 cents. With all the old ocmpany's trying to get profit from new Petra releases by issuing new best of cds I can easily see whichever recored company who owns the rights to the CITS video putting it on DVD just to get some profit on the coat tales of this DVD. Just a thought but it wouldn't surprise me at all.

I think CITS was on Star Song Records wasn't it? They don't exist...I think Sparrow Records or Chordant Distribution would have the say in that...ALTHOUGH the last time I saw CITS on CD was in the $9.99 bargain bin at Bookstore....

Yes it does. It costs twice as much. You have to look beyond the bulk media, the packaging, etc. It costs twice as much to edit, mix, master, and pay Bob and co. for the publishing. Record labels hate dual CDs, because they make the same profit, if not less on the retail level, and pay for royalties, because there are more tunes. Dual CDs just do not work well for most artists. There are about 5 duals that sold well throughout history. Guns and Roses was the first to buck the trend.

Yep. Mardels bargain binned them years ago, and now they are back at about that price here.

EMI owns the rights and it isn't going to happen. Atleast that's what I was told. Bob said that the video master was destroyed. Yet, Louie has a first generation copy of the finished product. So does Greg. The technology is in place to bake the master analog tapes and lock it to the videos that exist today.
The issue according to EMI was the money. There were under 800 signatures on a petition to rerelease it. While a nice thought, they need to be able to sell tens of thousands.
I was told by the head hauncho at EMI, that if they thought that they could make money with it, they would have done it already. They would likely not recoup their production expenses, would have a hard time making a profit selling it for the same cost as a CD to the stores ($3.50 to $4.00 EA), while providing more material than what was on the audio CD, and paying royalties to the owners.
After talking to people directly involved with the original production, I am certain that if Petra wanted it released, it would be. They do not, so it isn't.
I beat this dead dog to death before, and wish that I hadn't.

I got another e-mail from inpop publicity and they said the entire concert would fit on one CD.

He. Some things never go away Brent, you should know that by now. If people don't listen to what you've said that's not your fault. The key statement here is if it was something they wanted to do they would. It should be left at that.

four hours = 80 minutes? There is some shaving somewhere. Did they really play for four hours? Where there a slew of retakes?

It may well fit on one CD. We have to remember that in our concert experience there was a lot of patter and starting over between songs, and most of that stuff will at least be heavily edited, and in many cases (such as mistakes) not be on the CD at all. CITS is on one CD, although it is an edited version of what's on the cassette/LP/VHS versions of the same material.
