Calling all Petheads who were in Tenn. for the DVD Concert

Post by Ms.Musica » Sat Oct 08, 2005 9:10 pm

It's time to go to work. As you all know, Paul did a drum solo during a break in the concert. Well, it NEEDS to be on the DVD. So, we need to flood Inpop with requests for the drum solo to be included. It would be a shame if it was left out. So start sending your e-mails now and often!!
And if you were not at the Tenn. concert, then that's more of a reason for you to request it so you can see what we are talking about.

WE CAN MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!!

Hehe... poor Shara. She obviously has learned of the power of Petra's fans! That's good... Shara, now you KNOW we're ready to help out on the street team stuff!

Maybe she could slip and tell us who has the power to insert it on the DVD. Although, from what 've heard it'll be there.

Is it possible she may not know who actually decides what goes in the DVD or that even if she did she might not have any influence with them? You shouldn't assume that because she works for Inpop that they tell her everything or that she has much say so in the process of releasing DVDs or CDs. She wasn't involved in the actual production, and there are probably several people involved in the process of putting it together. It would be nice if they put Paul's solo in, but I'll just be happy with the DVD. 8)

Shara is in charge of Internet marketing for the Petra Farewell DVD project. I know she has other duties, but I imagine that in general they have to do with marketing and not necessarily production. However, Inpop appears to be a pretty small shop, so she may know some stuff. But we shouldn't pester her about it for sure. She's been nice enough to slip us some cool info and help us get in on the Phenomenal Franklin show... we probably should look for an official Inpop "contact us" address... isn't there a form somewhere on the Web site?

After the show, Paul said that Jim (Cooper - producer) said he definitely would put that footage on the DVD.

He'd be foolish not to.

From how you all are talking about the length of the show it wouldn't be too hard to fit all that on there. How long can a standard DVD give us minutes wise? I know an audio CD can get 80 min, but I know it is longer for a DVD because of movies and such.

one DVD

Post by Michael » Mon Oct 10, 2005 9:46 am

There is no way they'd have enough material to even come close to filling up a DVD. I would hazard to guess that if they wanted to, they could burn every second that Petra played, bloopers, replays and second time through the set, on one DVD disc with room to spare. It'll be a single DVD. Unless they think two discs will market enough better to make the extra expense of manufacturing them worthwhile.

I wonder if those are the words she would use...

I doubt she is using those words, but I wonder how many people had already emailed her about the subject? With Inpop being a small in house type setting I would think she would at least know where or to whom we could direct our emails too.

Video editing is a tricky beast. Editors are often forced to leave their favorite bits on the cutting room floor for a variety of reasons, so even with the guarentee of the producer, it's not a done deal. Keep that in mind.
