That's what I thought . . . until I realized they stick you with $3.50 for shipping.sue d. wrote:Pre-order the CD for $11.97 from MusiChristian.com - not a bad price!

I know, but I still think it's a little deceptive to advertise a low-ball price then pile on the hidden shipping charges during the order process. But that's marketing, I suppose.sue d. wrote:Well, you KNOW shipping is always added on... can't get away from that.
I may still order it, though, just on the chance that they may ship it a day or two early.

If you think $11.97+$3.50 is not a good price for a brand new CD, especially a "special edition" CD, then you obviously haven't bought too many CDs lately! Walk into Wal-Mart and see how many recent CDs you can get for under $15.50 .

When's the last time you were in a Wal-Mart? They have great CD prices. I've bought brand new releases there for as little as $12.95, and some older albums sell for less than $10.
At any rate, I don't consider $15.47 for a new CD a particularly good price, more of an average one. When I first saw $11.97, I almost fell out of my chair. "What an awesome price!" I said as I quickly entered my order information. Then I saw "Shipping: $3.50" and realized that the price I thought was so "awesome" really was too good to be true. Frankly, it irked me a bit, though in retrospect, I really should have known better.
Like I said, I'll probably still order because of the other perks offered ("limited edition" cover and possible early shipping) and not because of the price.

We charge about $2.50 for shipping our CDs. We get soaked in some cases. Most we don't. $3.50 is fair. It will be a wash for them in the end. They aren't making much on it.
I don't know of any company that doesn't break down the cost of the CD and shipping. We have an option that lets people pick before hand if they are paying US or Foreign shipping. Guess what? 9 out of 10 times, people pick the US shipping when they are Foreigners. It doesn't bother me how they did it, because most everyone does it this way.
The last point is that some people here will argue and complain about something in heaven. They are never content. You have a choice to buy it or not to buy it. If you don't like the $3.50, try to find it in the stores when and if it goes to one near you, and see if you will pay the same price as you can online, and please factor in your time, your gas, and your taxes.
BTW, Walmart sucks when it comes to Christian rock, because their target market for Christian music buyers is primarily black gospelm southern gospel and AC CCM.

This kind of comment is insulting and serves no purpose.brent wrote:The last point is that some people here will argue and complain about something in heaven. They are never content.
I never said otherwise. I'm just saying that the price is not the most compelling reason to buy from this particular vendor since after you factor in shipping, the price is no different than retail. Please read no more into my comments than what I've actually said. You have a choice to buy it or not to buy it.
