Album questions from a new poster

Post by shin_hibiki » Sat Nov 19, 2005 11:16 pm

Greetings all, and please forgive my "newness" and general lack of knowledge. After seeing Petra live for the first time, for the last time when they recently stopped here (hint: it's one of the cities on the tour shirt where the state isn't listed), I've become more interested in filling out holes in my collection. So I ask:

1. Does a cassette version of Washes Whiter Than exist?
2. Are there any other specific radio edits like the one of "Destiny" which I understand exists on the Unseen Power promo?
3. Just curious--what's up with the two versions of War & Remembrance?

Thanks!

That's a cool new poster - I'll put it on my wall!

1: Yep, I'm pretty sure.
2: Dunno.
3: Dunno.

Cool username! Do you speak Japanese? I think "shin" is one word for God, but I don't remember what "hibiki" means. I'd have to look it up in my Wa-Ei Jisho (Japanese-English dictionary)

1. Yes
2. Tons
3. Star Song Records 1990 release and 214 Records 1991 re-release

Thanks for your help! As for my net handle, its specific origins aren't all that exciting; it's just meant to sound generically Japanese. Folks tend to take notice of it, though, especially on ICQ. Interesting to see someone else here with a Japanese-esque name. I took a year of Japanese at college, and I've been to Japan a number of times, but I'm afraid to say that my skills have slipped quite a bit. I really enjoyed learning it, though.

Wow, mega-info site! Thanks for the link! I'm just wondering how one even goes about getting most of those promos, outside of working in radio. It doesn't seem like they're as available on eBay as, say, Garth Brooks singles. As for W&R, I used to think that "214 Records" was a business set up to allow the use of the older, non-Star Song recordings--I've only recently become aware of the Star Song set. So who was 214, and why the re-release, other than to apparently rearrange the order of tracks on the second disc? And did the 214 set include the booklet? (I can't remember, as I've long since lost my original box.)
