Was it even released on 8-track, or are you just being silly?

Has Petra ever had an album released on 8-Track?

I don't know if it was on 8-track or not - I was just going all the way with all the formats that have been around since I've been born.

And yes - Petra did put out at least one 8-track... I believe it was Washes Whiter Than (I'd have to look thru my collection, but I'm fairly sure that's one I have).

I got a brand new still sealed "CITAS" CD copy from "Family Christian" store last month for only $6.99. Our "Family Christian" in Independence, Missouri, now seems to be carrying the old Petra Star Song releases (( from More Power To Ya thru On Fire!, plus the many Star Song Best Of's, and several copies of JAH, even the spanish one). I have noticed that when one of the Cd's is sold, it is re-stocked on the shelf by the next week. Seems like I go in there every week, ... and yes I always look to see how much interest there is with Petra sales ....

On a side note regarding my own Petra CD collection, I am only awaiting the "slower than death" arrival of Petra (their 1st), Come & Join Us & The Early Years, which I ordered from "Rock Solid Music" up in Canada (eh?). I also still need the compilation Petrafied (but I can pretty much pick it up anytime on ebay or even Family Christian). The "Farewell" Cd is to be a Christmas present from my wife, .......... so I will be paitent  and wait ........

Does anyone actually know anybody that was in the audience at any of those recordings of CITaS (Oh my God, I may have started another controversy with that abreviation)? It would be interesting to hear there perspective of things from that day, of courste if they can remember anything about it.

I have seen it, but it has been a while. There was a Christian book store in Abilene, Texas that had it for rent. The first part of the video was concert footage of WhiteHeart on their Don't Wait for the Movie tour. That was pretty cool. I remember Ric, Rick, Ricq, Ricque, Rik Florian just bouncing that left leg of his the whole concert.

The second part of it was CiTaS. I actually made an illegal copy of it for myself. I was a young Christian at the time and didn't know any better. The tape ended up getting ate by my cousin's vcr one time, so I haven't seen it in about 15 years.

I wish I knew which bookstore that was that had it. I moved to El Paso for several years and just can't remember which one it was or where it was at. Brownwood, where I live now, is only 80 miles from Abilene, but I've been unable to find that bookstore or that video for rent in the two bookstores I can find there. Perhaps they sold it or it wore out.

Shortly after Jeckyll & Hyde was released, I would pop into my local Christian bookshop and "helpfully" rearrange their CDs to give J&H a more prominent spot. Whenever I did, I'd go in next time and they'd be all sold out!

Okay, I'll say it again... you can find places to order ANY of Petra's CDs from this page:

http://www.GuideToPetra.com/TheList.html

I think the self-titled debut album is out of print and sky-high priced at Amazon, so that one's tougher, but I'm pretty sure I have links for all the others. (Except JAH in Espanol... D'OH! Gotta get on that soon!)

1985 tour

I wasn't there for any of the concerts that were recorded for the CITAS album, but I did see them live while they were on that tour. It was my first time seeing Petra and it was a great show. I've seen them three times since then and none of the subsequent shows was as good as that first one. However, the second time I saw them, I think it was 1990, that was a close second. Greg was just an incredible ball of energy on that 1985 tour and his vocal abilities were at their peak.

Michael,

Yes in deedy, your list aidded in my "Petra CD collection quest" immensly! In fact it was thru your links that I found the "Rock Solid Music" site up in Canada and many others. For someone seeking to complete their Petra collection or just find a certain Petra CD, it is the premium starting point. Ebay is yet another good place to find many Petra cd's, but watch the prices. You may be able to find some used or even new cd's for very decent prices. I got the "No Doubt" & "Unseen Power" CD's for $0.01 each in the past month! My advice is to know the prices of the various new Cd's available fron the different sites and watch the selling prices on ebay. Don't be afraid to let something go if bidding on ebay if it gets above your comfort range. There's plenty out there ........

8-tracks

I have the Washes Whiter Than 8-track. I'm positive that there are 8-tracks releases of Petra's first 5 albums (Petra, Come And Join Us, Washes Whiter Than, Never Say Die, More Power To Ya). I don't know if any later album was released on 8-track.

If there's anyone with some old Petra 8-tracks you want to get rid of, I would be very interested.
