The Petra Zone

I can't believe it!Petra is no longer with us!
What a sad time it is for christian music around the world.
I pray that God will raise up more bands with the commitment to the calling of God to witness in their music.
I have been listening to some christian bands lately and i wonder where the gospel is being proclaimed in their lyrics.It is a shame that they don't proclaim the message of the Gospel of Christ in their lyrics.

Jason, I think the lyrics to the song Sacred Trust says it all. That has been one of my favorite Petra songs because I believe it speaks to Christian music and the modern church right where we are the weakest today.

But don't count Petra out just yet. I think when it comes right down to it, it's not the name Petra that thrilled us so much but the people that made Petra what it was and their faithfulness with the "Sacred Trust". I think we will hear more from these guys. Even during the Around the World Radio broadcast the other night, Greg Bailey admitted that there has been some talk about reorganizing as more of a band being sent out as missionaries. I'm sure this discussion has happened because of the success of the South American tour.

Now, don't go crazy with this. I have no inside knowledge. Let's just be patient and see what God does.
