Memories should remain memories.

I'll always love the "dream team" but if I had a choice I'd just as soon they go on the way they were with Greg and Paul. Those guys really brought a lot to the band. All of the members contributed something, but a lot of the reason they sounded so good in their recent concerts was because of Greg and Paul.
Not gonna happen, but it's interesting to speculate.

I wish the 1984 Detroit Tigers would reunite.
But they are all old now and wouldn't be able to do what we all remember them best for: 35-5, Trammell to Sweet Lou, Senor Smoke, Jack Morris' glowering, Sparky in the umpire's grill, Ernie Harwell behind the mic, Gibson's homers...
And then I'll watch them shuffling around the field and be all mad, because, "Hey, these guys were my heroes. Now they are an embarassment."

I have to agree with Jon Jon on this one...
the 1984 Tigers ruled the sport of baseball. I have been a huge baseball fan all my life. Today's players, managers, and owners don't have half the heart of those from the 80's back.
Every once in a while I'll watch an old game on ESPN classic. You can see the difference in the way they played back then. They hustled and had a lot of love for the game itself. Now it's about a bunch of punks trying to land a multi million dollar deal. It's really sad that we will probably never see a team like the '84 Tigers. Although the whole Boston thing was a real throw back to that era I must say.

I'd like to see Michael Jackson reunite with Janet Jackson. But it will never happen, or will it??? As in reality, they are actually the same person.

My wife says the same thing. Usually she says it when I tell her to give me all of her money.

Wow, the 84 Tigers!!! I live in Michigan and was at 35-5 game! Went to alot of games that year. Jons email brought back a lot of memories. Just give Petra a few years to settle. Look around at the CCM scene. Some old band have reunited and are playing limited gigs. Let the band have their good memories and let the neg. ones be forgotten. After a few years some festival promoter will offer and the stars will line up right there will be a chance for Petra to play a few gigs somewhere/sometime. It wouldn't be for record sales or image. Weight and "hair", who would care. Could be an interesting lineup in the future. These guys have enjoyed playing together, built friendships, and will always have the "remember when" memories. Give them a postive opportunity.................and you never know.
wow '84 Tigers and Petra!

Wow the '84 Tigers, indeed captured in time and space!
What about the '68 "Go get 'em" Tigers? '72 Tigers? '87 Tigers?
Each had a flavor that brought great things to the game!
Petra had different teams of great band members through the years.
The bottom line (with the symbolism of baseball) was to get people HOME!
Petra was a championship team because they gave alter calls to have people come HOME to the Lord Jesus Christ . . . beyond individual group talents, fan base likes & dislikes, and record sales . . . ( remember when they would close concerts with the song "Ask Him In?" ). . . bringing people to Christ, that is the bottom line.
Reunion on earth is one thing, but what about the one that awaits in Heaven, now that will be a championship party!
I would hope to be wearing the hat and uniform with the old English "D"!
