"I put the whole (almost) concert from Norway 11/26 -05 at the nyback-site, "Petra Norway 2005.wmv". A friend of mine filmed the concert. I also have some clips from the concert in Sweden 11/27, I will put them on the site soon...

Slightly off topic question, but it is about videos. ;)

Did petra release any music videos during the Greg Volz era besides one for the song "Beat The System"?

It just crossed my mind as I was going thru some old christian music video tapes I have laying around.

GXV

Post by Michael » Tue Jan 24, 2006 2:07 pm

During the GXV era, there barely even WERE any Christian videos. I remember watching the local Christian rock video show where I lived on the cable access channel, and every week it was basically the same videos in a different order, with different patter between them. Kind of boring after a while, although you REALLY got to know those particular songs!

ok so most petra music videos were during the John Schlitt era. The only GXV one I remember is "Beat The System". You would think they woulda done at least a couple more with him.

But I suppose like you said videos were not big at the time. Although I knew Mylon LeFevre and DeGarmo & Key had a handful. In fact the DeGarmo & Key one was banned from MTV.

I also started to mirror files from johnwschlitt.com to help them with bandwith. That also is not helping with the total speed.
Soon i have to do the same as sue. Ask for bandwith aid to keep the site up
Oh no - I hold the exclusive rights to beg for bandwidth! :D

About the vids: Christian music is/was always a few steps BEHIND mainstream music. Since MTV kicked into gear in 1981, it stands to reason that the Christian scene didn't catch up until later in the '80s.

Greg does have about 5-6 solo videos, though. They're all shot in black & white, and a few are rather good.
