Some interesting Farewell DVD stuff

Ran across some articles today and thought you guys would be interested in arguing endlessly about them. :) First off, here's one on a blog on Billboard's site:

Petra To Release DVD Of 'Farewell'

That one is just fun to look at, to know that people are thinking of Petra. This one is more interesting:

Petra Says 'Farewell' With Live DVD Release

The thing I found interesting was this sentence: "The 65-minute DVD features the band performing favorites such as `Test of Time,' `Creed' and..." WOAH! What does it say there??? It also mentions some of the special features I posted about before.

That one smelled like a press release to me, so I checked, and although that post was from Valentine's Day, Inpop actually has a press release that went out today. I posted it at the bottom of the main page at A Guide to Petra. Notice that it is a completely different article, and it does not mention any of the song titles.

Something to argue about? Here? Nah. The articles look interesting, I'll read them more carefully later.

I thought it might be fun to post some of our favorite Petra memories here. Some of mine are: Hearing Petra with Greg V. for the first time in 1984, hearing them with John for the first time in 1987 or 1988, getting to go on two cruises with John in 1990 and 1993, the Pethead Convention in 2003 and getting to hear Greg B. and Paul play in Oceanside twice this last year.

I would argue that we don't like to argue here.

Looks like we're going to have to wait until March 7th (or until someone gets a copy of it early and posts the track listing) to know for sure what's on this thing.

The one article lists Judas Kiss as one of the songs. But then you follow the link on inpop's website to preorder it, and it has the same track listing as the CD. Does anyone really know?

Another thing I find interesting is how on all these sites or articles, it says "See petraband.com" for more info. HaHa. If you want old info that is.

I find it interesting that "InPopShara" got on here in a hurry to tell us how few copies the Farewell CD sold, but never has answered direct questions about exactly what the track listing is for the DVD.

And yes, petraband.com is a disgrace. The band ought to demand that it be taken down. Would it really have killed someone to spend 5 minutes writing a paragraph or two about the end of the tour? It still lists J&H as the most recent release for pete's sake.

Something should have been done about petraband.com a long time ago; it's probably pointless to worry about it now. I sort of gave that up as a lost cause quite awhile ago. The band probably isn't directly involved with petraband.com either. John's site and petrarocksmyworld.com are much better.
