The Petra Zone

I am relatively new to this community. I hung around for a while, then decided to get involved. It seems like there's a variety of age groups participating in this site, but I don't know any real way of knowing.

I wonder if it's possible to include a few more details in each member's profile so we can all get acquainted better. I think some of you know each other personally, but that's not very helpful to people like me who stumble upon this site and decide to get involved.

AGE: 38 (will turn 39 on December 9)

PETHEAD FOR HOW LONG: since 1984 (I think a lot of people started listening to Petra during this era)

FIRST PETRA ALBUM EVER HEARD: More Power To Ya

CONCERTS ATTENDED: Only one, at Anderson University in Anderson, IN during the Beyond Belief tour. Ronnie Cates held my 2-year old daughter at the time. This lineup was awesome.

NUMBER OF PETRA CDs YOU OWN: 14 and expanding. I will have all of them soon, including compilations.

DO YOU OPERATE A FAN SITE: No, but I visit many of them frequently, especially The Petra Zone, Guide to Petra, The Petheads.com, PetraRocksMyWorld and JohnWSchlitt.com.

Glad you decided to join in with us. Yes it's hard when you are a newcomer to figure out who's who. A lot of us have had the privilege to meet at various concerts or at Sue's house when we all met for a concert or a "pethead convention".

I'm a singer/songwriter myself and have been touring with my husband Warren, whom I married on Aug 25, 03

PETRA's been my inspiration for writing lyrics and lately the music to put my CD together. I think Petra's influenced many of us musically and spiritually.....there are many of us who can testify to that.....and many Petheads who are musicians who've lately had some awesome opportunities given to them, a blessing granted by the Lord for which we are thankful.

Yeah, I got to meet some Petheads too this last summer, I took off and flew to Wisconsin for the Pethead convention. I've talked to several cool Petheads on the phone too. You get to know each other when you've been posting for awhile.

Here's my info--

Age: 42--Boy do I feel ancient sometimes.

Gender: Female.

Petra fan since about 1984--Quite a long time.

Favorite album--I love J&H, but Beyond Belief would have to be my favorite.

First Petra album--Beat The System.

How many concerts--I've lost count too, LOL, but it's probably up in the teens--17 or 18.

How many albums--I lost count there too, LOL. All of them, both of John's and even a few "Best Ofs".

Fan site--No, but I'd like to learn about that and do that one of these days. Right now it's on the back burner.

I work at home doing medical transcription (that's how I'm able to be on the Internet so much, LOL) but that's probably going to change--It's a pain to have to pay my own taxes.

I don't know... it takes time to get to know people, even in the offline world. I don't know that a game of twenty questions is going to help that much. But if you go to the Member List, you'll see that many of the folks on here have a WWW link listed, and in most cases you'll find out something about that person by visiting his or her Web site.

Or you could just hang out a while... you'll learn all KINDS of wild and wooly facts about people that way!

Man, if it hadn't been for moving, I would have way more than 9 posts... I've been posting since 1997. Albeit, I haven't posted in here in quite a while, but still...

If you're talking about adding new fields to the member profile... I feel certain that it's possible, and I believe Micah has the knowledge to figure it out, but I doubt if he has the time to mess with it. I don't think it's something that's easily configurable without some code hacking. I think we're probably stuck with the stuff that's already there.

Now, Stephen may be interested in collecting some of this information at ThePetheads.com ...how about it?
