Very nice interview....
If you really want to hear decent players, you have to go to jazz or blues, even classical. There's a boring sameness that's everywhere. I hope to see this change and I really expect it to. I really think I'm proved right by the fact that so many bands who are having "30 year reunions" are as popular as when they first came out.
Isn't that the truth... when you look at how so many classic rock bands are STILL out there, touring away... bands like Bon Jovi - I even heard an advertisement for The Tubes coming to town! - it makes you wonder what ever happened to creativity and uniqueness.

Don't mistake longevity for uniqueness or creativity. Petra was out there for awhile and WE loved them still. But I agree that music has become a little stale, I even have listened to some country music just to hear something different.

Poor country music...

I'll admit I'm not a big country fan either; I like some stuff that could be considered country, but it's closer to being pop than country.
