With the recent ending of Petra's music ministry I thought it'd be kind of interesting to start a series of polls on favorite songs. Starting with their first album and working to the last. I figured I'd do an album each week. In addition I did poll's on the solo work of lead singers Greg X. Volz and John W. Schlitt.
Since that series of polls have concluded it's time to move on to the final 4. I considered doing something like this but was too lazy to figure out the logistics. These set of polls are titled the "Song Poll Showdown". Special thanks to BriGuyPei for coming up with the lists. It was his idea so blame it on him..
Anyways this will be four sets of polls with 10 songs each. The songs picked were the top winners from the petra polls I conducted with a few added by BriGuyPei to fill them out. I quickly glanced at them and they seem to be spread out pretty well, so..
So there you have it. Put away your farewell and CITAS DVD's and start voting ya'll!

I thought that this one would end up being a showdown between Judas Kiss and Beyond Belief. I've always looked at BB as the definitive Petra song, if there is such a thing. At the very least, it's probably their most recognized song. So that's where my vote goes.
BTW, I emailed 4 polls, not 3. Are you missing one or did you just streamline things a little? I can resend them if you like.

BB is one of those songs that I need to sing everytime I here it.
I like both the BB version and the Farewell CD version. It's a classic.

Judas Kiss and Beyond Belief are both such characteristicly Petra songs-- challenging lyrics and classic Hartman hooks.
In the end I had to vote for JK -- its just more my Petra era.

The question wasn't what was the definitive Petra song, it was about
your favorite from those listed. For me they wouldn't be the same answers anyway.

Wow your right. I musta forgot to scroll down when reviewing my email. I corrected the information.
Yeah I'm kinda expecting BB to be the runaway winner as well. Especially considering the number of JWS fans as compared to the GXV fans.
In fact I even like BB so much, I added the first line too my signature for now. I always sing the first verse in falsetto (my way of mocking John's high pitch voice) and then the second normal.
Don't worry though people, I do the same for Mr. Volz on some of his songs.

True enough.
Oh well, maybe when we do the final showdown we can take 5 songs: the 4 winners and 1 wildcard. Then there might be a JK vs BB rematch.

Maybe a bracketed tourney would be better here, with seeding based on number of votes originally.
