Name that John/Bob Concert!
Hey all,
I'm coming to the Zone to get some ideas for the New Year's Eve event we're having with John & Bob up in Sheboygan Falls, WI (and you're all invited, you know! WI isn't THAT bad in December!). Really, I'd LOVE to have as many folks here as were at Murphy for Petra's last hurrah - exactly a year ago.
It's not JUST a concert - we're starting out with a dinner, followed by games and activities for kids and the concert for adults. One ticket buys all!
We're trying to come up with a NAME for this event for advertising purposes. Nothing is working or jumping out at me.
Since it's more than the concert, we have to incorporate the fact that it's family-friendly... "something for everyone."
HELP!
Please post your ideas here. I HAVE to get moving on this! I've been so busy trying to book other people's concerts that I've been neglecting my own.

How about "An evening of family, friends, and faith." Preparing to ring in the New Year with those who mean the most to us.
Does your church have a big screen or could you rent one if necessary? The reason I say that is you may need to advertise it as an evening of family, friends, FOOTBALL, and faith. The last games of the NFL season are on December 31st, and although Green Bay is currently scheduled to start at noon, the NFL has something new this year called "flexible scheduling" where Sunday afternoon games in Weeks 10-15 and 17 are subject to being moved to Sunday night. That gives them the ability to change start times to suit the TV audiences. IF (heaven forbid) the Packer game is changed to a night game, and IF it could be Bret Farve's last game, well, attendance might be lacking unless you can incorporate the game into the activities of the evening.

"Family, Friends, Faith - and FOOTBALL" ~~~~~ AUGH!!!! I'm so sick of running into STUPID football games with my concerts!
Yes, there is a big screen thing in the fellowship hall.... I believe it's hooked up to regular TV too, so that would take care of that issue.
I can just see it now - NO one in the concert - everyone in the hall watching Favre. It BETTER NOT be his last game!
Contrary to popular belief in WI, life does NOT revolve around the Packers.
DOUBLE AUGH!!!!

hehehe...

Although it IS something you probably ought to make contingency plans for, I mainly brought it up just because I could picture your reaction!

I know, I'm bad.

Oh, you Sports Geek you!!
..... stupid football. This can't happen AGAIN!
(for those of you who don't know the story, we brought Petra to Sheboyan on a Thursday, not knowing that the Packers AGAIN interferred because they decided to play on a Thursday. This was in 1998, when there RARELY were football games on Thursdays. And of COURSE - the Packers played on the very same night as the show... and it hurt attendance, big time.)
I just can't deal with another football/concert conflict! augh!!!

Concert Idea
Well, I've come to realize as a designer that Less is More and I think you already have the name in your own words. "Something for Everyone", it comes off a little weak at the beginning but think about it.
Some great ideas have worked with only simple words. For example: That 70's show, The Who, The movie "That Thing You Do" and so many more where there are one to three words used in most cases.
That's my idea
