Michael, you can also that with YaBB... :)

I like PHPbb... my only problem with it is that every single PHPbb I've seen looks the same... same icons, same blue/orange color scheme. Is it customizable like YaBB?

When looking into this, I think I read you can tweak templates and download various modules. It was just a brief read so I could be wrong on this, Josh.

By the way, I still have YaBB on my PC locally. Haven't made too much of an attempt to figure this one out as well.

So I'm wanting to put up a message board, where can I go to get this software?

phpBB customization

You definitely can configure phpBB to look differrent... this is just the default theme. I installed a different on at http://talk.petratulsa.org, for one example. And that one is actually a lot like this one... I've seen others that are pretty different.
