The Petra Zone

As many of you know John Lawry has made a solo album, called Media Alert, in 1990. What most people don't know is that John has made another solo album. The album is called Excursions and was released in 1997. After years of searching for the album I've recently managed to track it down and all the details (including cover scan) are available at my website at this page. It's a 5-track instrumental album that was only available in a hand-numbered limited edition of 1,000 copies, so I guess it's pretty rare.

I didn't know that he had released this album. But a lot of times I've been wondering why he didn't do some more solo records. In my opinion he is an extremely talented musician. I really like some of the pieces of music you can hear him play in the "backstages pass" video.

I've always like Media Alert.... his vocals need a little work, but the music and lyrics are wonderful.

I bet that is a really cool album to listen to! Afterall, anyone who can make his keyboard say "Jesus Loves You" is a truly blessed individual!
