An Idea For John
I was just playing with my daughter and listening to the Return to Pooh Corner CD by Kenny Loggins. The thought occurred to me: John could do that. I think it would be really cool if John recorded a children's album. We all know that John can sing with the tenderness required for a good children's lullaby album. Plus most Petra fans these days have children, and you know they'd all buy one.
I find that right now, most Christian children's music is sung by children. I'd be nice to have a quality recording done by a quality singer. I think John could totally pull this off, and it would open him up to an entirely new demographic. If he wanted he could even collaborate with Bob. I think John Lawry's keyboards would fit well on a project like that too, so he could guest on at least a couple of tracks.
Sue, now that you're his manager, you could mention that idea to him. If you think it's a good idea, that is.

Randy Stonehill did a great children cd called Uncle Stonehill's Hat. If you come across it. Pick it up. You wont be disappointed.

Yeah, he could pull off a children's CD. I would advise against a video though. The faces he makes when he sings would frighten the tar out of little children.

Dude, I can SO picture that. Easy. Of course, I was there for the tour when he sang the song about the "dog named Bob and the pony named Pete"...Mountain Man wrote:I'm trying to picture John singing "The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round..."

I wasn't exactly thinking of Wheels on the Bus type of stuff. The Kenny Loggins album contains songs that are kid-oriented, but that kids and adults can both enjoy, like The Rainbow Connection and stuff like that. Songs about Winnie the Pooh, ponies, and unicorns. Take a listen here to see what I mean.
