Watched it! VERY cool!! and how awesome for John! That was seen by a lot of people! I had buddies of mine callin and they said "hey I was flippin through the channels and that John Schlitt guy that you like so much is on TV!!!" ha ha so very cool for John!!
Where in the WORLD did they get the Head East footage?!?!?!?!
Even though the footage was very brief.. Its the ONLY footage I've ever seen of Head East! And trust me I've done VERY exhausting searches for it... alot more than typin in Head East on Youtube

! !
Would LOVE to see more of it and perhaps some audio???
But anyways all in all I though the segment was very nice! Probably the shortest version of John's testimony I've ever heard (lol) but very nicely covered!
Hopefully this will really get the phone ringin huh Sue??? Very Cool indeed!

It was GREAT! It was kind of funny, though, from the perspective of someone who has heard the story lots of times... it was like there were a bunch of little holes in it, details that were edited out. Not any important details, though... I think CBN did a great job of tightening it up to fit in the time they had available. It was terrific!

Your friends called you, Stephen? That is neat...
The HE footage came from Dorla. If any of you are old enough to remember Super 8 movie cameras and projectors - that is where it came from. No sound, just picture - so you're outta luck on the audio portion (unless she had a suped-up camera, but it was a little early in the ages of movie cameras for that).
Yes, the segment was pretty short, considering the film crew spent the whole day at their house. But that is the way those segments are - usually short, sweet & to the point.
700 Club did a wonderful job, and were very great to work with.
The part that really touched me even more than watching John's program was the part where the host (Terri Ann) prays - and uses John's story within her prayer for the lost.
*I* lost it at that point.... bring on the Kleenex.

Until I can figure out a way to download this clip, I have shared a self-shot video for you to enjoy!

I've asked for a DVD or mpg copy from the station and permission to use it and/or put it on John's site, so we'll see what they say.
On a most important note: I am told by CBN
"There were 458 salvations yesterday! Great day!"
Guys, lets pray that all these people who were moved by John and Dorla's story are serious about their commitment to Christ, and will stay near to Him for the rest of their lives.
THIS is what it's all about.
That's ok!

I have put the file offline until further notice.
I don't want to distribute it before you hear something from them.
If you put an original clip on Johns website, I don't want to put a low quality copy on mine

Hey all,
I've heard back - and we're not supposed to host copies of the program on our sites because of copyright law, but we CAN put links.
I'm told that John's vid will reside here for "an indefinite amount of time":
http://www.cbn.com/vod/
Just type in SCHLITT and it will pull up.
SO..... that's the story. I'd rather host is myself, but we'll have to follow their rules.

Sue,
I was kinda wondering how they got the Head East footage on the program.?.?... Did they have to transfer Dorla's stuff onto dvd or something first... and if so.. How much of it was transfered? Just the stuff we saw? All of it?? How much more Head East stuff is there? Since this stuff is SUPER rare and some of his fans enjoy the Head East stuff I was wondering if maybe a little montage of a bunch of the footage could be made and since it doesnt have sound maybe you could just put a toon or two over the footage (maybe John's song "One Against the Other" or "City of Gold" would be a good choice??) and it could be put up on the sight in the video section???
I dunno... just a thougt. Might be more work than I know
But if its at all convinent... I think it would be cool for us HE fans.?.?
Let me know what ya think,
Stephen

I don't know the technical end of it all, but yes - they transferred the footage from Super 8 to whatever format they use for TV.
I know Dorla has a lot of film, but I don't know how much she gave them, or if they were going to give the HE stuff back in DVD format.
I do know they're going to give them a nice surprise with the family footage, but not sure about the HE stuff.
I'd love to get my hands on that... believe me, I've thought exactly what you're thinking about! But we'll see what 700 Club gives them... I have a new computer with tons of vid/audio programs on it (none of which I know how to use.. yet...). I'm sure I have the capability now to do almost anything- if I can figure out HOW!

You're da man, Dan! Lemme guess - you have a video capture program on your computer? OR... like with Life Today - you found their 'holding folder?'
I'll send you an email with FTP instructions... I won't load it on John's site since I promised not to, but I really want to have a good copy of it.

I didn't myself managed to download the original clip, but I captured a 10 frames pr.sec. clip with VoD Maker . But it's not good enough for sharing I guess. It would be nice to get the original clip.
It should be available here: mms://sm1.cbn.org/vod/CS7_h.wmv
I can't understand why a 5 minutes testimony should be hold back due to copyright laws. I am glad there is no copyright on the word of God. Then we all would be Sued!
