How about a book from Bob?

I have heard talk of a book by and about John Schlitt, and although I love and respect John for all that he has meant to christian music, I think we've all heard his personal testimony a million times or more. Would anyone else like to see a book by Bob Hartman about his personal testimony and the history of petra from his perspective? I would like to be the first (if indeed I am) to request, as a die hard fan since I was 8, for Bob to write a book. He was afterall the founding father of petra and I would love to read anything he has to write. I know he did the More power to ya devotional, which was very insightful, but I would like to see a book by Bob that focuses more deeply on his perspective and memories from all the years of recording and traveling and the different transitions and controversies, i.e. Greg Volz leaving, Louie being fired.
Well, I've said enough. I hope others agree. Maybe if we have enough demand for it, we'll see a book soon.

I agree with you! A book written by Bob would be great and very interesting.

I agree with y'all, but... hadn't Bob already writen a book?
Once I heard something about his book called "more power to ya"...
What is this book all about?
if either it is not about petra or it's too out-of-date... I'd like to request a new one...

It is a devotional based on the songs and the scriptures that the songs came from. As a result, Bob goes into the now common surface knowledge stuff that the hard core Petra fans know about albums, sessions, producers, etc.

Actually p-freak,
I saw that devotional on ebay the other day and had a bid on it, but wasn't around to re-bid. It had the artwork for This Means War! and it was being auctioned with the Rock Cries Out songbook. That winner should be pretty happy!
I'm still keeping my eyes open for the God Fixation devotional. I guess the circulation was low on it because I've only heard of it from your site.

Yeah, I know about the Prayer Warrior Devotional on eBay. I got outbid by some guy from the UK. It went for over 40 AU$.
I've seen the God Fixation Devotional on eBay a few times. So keep an eye on eBay and you'll find one someday. I don't actually remember how I found out about this devotional. I remember having heard something about it and then I asked Bob if it was available somewhere. He told me it was released only as promotion and that you couldn't buy it anywhere. I think I bought a copy from Shaabyi, some years ago.

Hi guys let me first take the opportunity to introduce myself as a guy who's been silently viewing your forums (abt 5 years) but without the guts to join. You see, I'm a big Petra fan but the problem is that I'm a Kenyan. I have a small collection of Petra albums (which I play over and over till my pals think I'm nuts, and more are on order). I initially started out on softer rock-MWS shortly after I gave my life to Christ, but later ended up loving Petra from Petra Praise II and God Fixation.
I was saddened by the retirement of the band which I consider to be the best Rock band there was and will ever be. I hope and trust that God will give them favour in their new endeavours as IIguys. Keep rocking for the Rock.

hey Vic, welcome to the posting members side

, well I don't post a lot,
cause sometimes the guys are talking about petra stuff related to USA only, so I
don't fell confortable to get in and post...
anyways... I apreciate your decision to post.
I'll search for the book on emule... 'cause it's unlikely that I'll be able to
find one to buy...
