I can taste it!!

I was thinking live band during this whole discussion. If hearing them live is a long shot, another Petra CD with Greg would be like raising the dead.

I would absolutely love to hear what Bob could do now with Greg leading the vocals. You really don't have to go back to the sound on the old albums. Without a doubt, Bob can take the flavor all us "old folks" loved and freshen it up live. Look at what he did with Amazing Grace on the Farewell CD. Where the Revival version gave me a yawn attack, I can't get enough of the Farewell version. I think he could do some amazing things with those old songs.

Maybe after we're done praying for our families, neighbors, churches, missionaries, prisoners for Christ, victims of earthquakes, wars and famines.........then we can all pray for this concert.

As far the dream team label offending you goes, grab a Kleenex.
I'll remember that attitude next time I hear someone talk about "The Dream Team"

Good grief, the elitism displayed by some people on this board is simply disgraceful.

It would be kinda be like raising the dead, but would still be a interesting item in the collection as a fan. I was thinking the other day, if someone had said the Greg would play with Petra again, I would never have believed it, but with semi dream team Petra reunion that took place late last year, it's not such a shock that the classic lineup is possibly reforming.

I swear that at times it seems like this is the least mature board I've ever been a member of.

Finally there is life back on the board, now all that is needed is Jonathan with some witty Petra shenanigans.

Count me in as one.

The transition was gradual, so the change from CITS and BTTS seemed minimal. But I agree with Brent, they should have reworked it and gone to an edgier style. I thought the BTTS Tour was great.

Personally, I thought BTS was bigger leap in style then the move from GXV to JS. At the time (I was 13), I only liked 2-3 songs. Now, I never listen to that album, much preferring the live versions on CITS.

I'm a bigger fan of Schlitt, but appreciate GXV's tremendous talent.

I have Not of this World playing in my car at the moment it makes for easy listening, I put Beyond Belief on when I need to stay awake driving home.

So much for freedom of speech.. I know how Brent must feel every time someone attacks him for an opinion/theory/fact.

I do! Except for when Bob Hartman wasn't in the band...

But I think I would pay more to see a Greg X Volz Petra concert or CD, just because it's much more of an event!

I'm a fan of both. I was at a Petra concert in Orange, Tx in 1981 and that was my first live concert to see and was blown away(by the band not Greg). I feel the 86-93 Petra is by far the best and most talented; Even though John Lawry has said that Slick runs circles around him on the keys.
I just like the John Schlitt style better and I have a hard time making Greg out to be a rock singer. Greg's voice is more suited for AC to pop-light rock. IMO he doesn't have the grit to be a true rock singer.

My ears are burniiiiiiing...

I haven't weighed in incisively, because I really don't give two poops who plays with who. If memory serves, I've seen:

• John S/Louie/Ronnie/David/Jim
• John S/Louie/Pete/Kevin/Lonnie
• John S/Louie/Quentin/Greg B/Bryce (I may have also seen this incarnation with Trent, who knows.)
• John S/Bob/Greg B/Paul
• Bob/John D/Bill/Greg
• John/Ozzy/Enosh/Ringo

and I enjoyed every show thoroughly.

I've never seen Greg (High Volzage), John L, Slick, or Mark.

I prefer John Schlitt based on my own taste, but if I was asked to make my own greatest hits compilation, it would span the entire catalog. I'd buy a Petra record if Pete sang the whole thing.

What I'm getting at is that Petra is beyond their lead singer, at least for me.

If Jamie Rowe was the lead singer of Petra, it would the perfect band.
