Someone knows how to get a hold of him because when Petra was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall Of Fame he was there.
That was, what, 10 years ago? A lot can change in ten years.

Well how many years, upto that point, had it been since they all got together?

Probably since the induction into the GMHoF. (Or is that the GMHOF? I don't know about this stuff.)

If Vegas took bets on a Petra reunion with the 84 line up, I would be betting against it. I wish it would happen. There is more to it than a bunch of guys getting together to play music. That is for kids in a garage.

This is for real!

Post by toolman » Fri Feb 26, 2010 11:21 pm

This is straight from the press relaese:

"Greg Carnes Productions are very pleased to announce that the ‘classic line-up’ of Petra (Greg X. Volz / Bob Hartman / John Lawry / Louie Weaver) has reformed for a 2010 Reunion Tour, with dates throughout the summer and fall."

Now if they would add John Schlitt to the mix they would really have something!

Read the whole press release here:

I wonder if many promoters will actually book this. Lack of interest from the promoters was one of the factors that did lead to Petra's retirement. Why would promoters suddenly be interested in this?

Of course all of us would be interested, but a tour?

I think if you have the right promoter, someone who will push this out their, and really advertise it, I think it could be BIG.
I am going to get killed, but I would rather see this lineup than the Farewell lineup.

We all have our favorite lineups, and they all had something to contribute. I liked the Farewell lineup a lot, but this is a good one.

On their farewell tour, Delirious were "supported" by the Cutting edge band, the original incarnation of the band (actually the same guys, but different songs). Now I know this will never happen, but how about Classic Petra Supporting Dream Team Petra?? That would make everyone happy, and to be fair - if this tour is coming together, it would only really require John and Louie to make their peace to get the Dream Team too (minus bass players). It's fun to dream...

This video has GXV from last year, so we know he still has it.

Would be nice if they can get Mark Kelly, always wanted to hear his bass/vocals again.

Let get this straight there plans for a Petra Classic tour and a Petra Final tour! My question who Bob going to play with? It to bad that they cant merge and one tour. So what happens if tour is want over the other? Again, nothing official from Bob!

Question: Who has rights of Petra? I think is Bob but I think John was control while Bob was not on tour. So did Bob take over?

Can someone clarify whats going on?

I would be surprised if any of this is legit. The history between Bob and Greg is strained at best. Can anyone confirm any of this. Sent Bob an email a couple of days ago asking about this and this was his reply. Bob always has replied to my emails and there usually very short and to the point.

nope

blessings,
Bob
