I've been wondering what kind of set list the Classic Petra would be playing. Here are the songs I would like to hear. Not in any certain order.

1. God Gave Rock
2. Beat the System
3. Clean
4. It Is Finished
5. Adonai
6. Blinded Eyes
7. Not By Sight
8. Occupy
9. Road To Zion
10. Rose Colored
11. Judas Kiss
12. Second Wind
13. Angel of Light
14. Chameleon
15. Coloring Song
16 Come & Join Us
17. Where Can I go
18. Sally and Woman Don't You know(Melody)
19. Back Sliding Blues
20. Lucas McGraw

I know they won't play all; I'm thinking a 12-14 song set list with a melody somewhere down the middle

I hope all of the songs have a melody.

I think this would be a great set list. I would replace Hollow Eyes with Adonai. Is there really a reason why they couldn't do any of the newer material? JS has sung a number of these pre Schlitt era tunes before. Why couldn't GXV sing songs from after his departure? I'm not suggesting a majority of newer songs, just a select few (i.e. Creed, He Came, He Saw, He Conquered, etc...)

When John came in he had to sing Gregs stuff, because they had to keep the tour going until they made a new album for John. For Greg to sing Johns stuff would not make sense, because Greg never sang those songs to begin with. The classic tour needs to only play the songs that they did back in the day.

Yes, and then they should release it as a double LP set, as a cassette, on CD and on VHS (only NTSC of course), and then in 20 years time they can release a DVD (if they're able to find the original masters). I also have a great idea for the artwork. What about some kind of 80s computer generated bunch of flying guitars in green and red on a greenish/blackish background? Sounds truly classic!

It makes sense to me, as a long-time Petra fan, to be able to hear GXV sing some of the newer material. Not every set list is what everyone wants to hear all of the time.

I have the PAL version of the VHS, didn't that come out in Europe?

from the other thread ...

Here's a mock set list that I dream of:

God Gave Rock and Roll to You (Come and Join Us version)
Come and Join Us
Enemy Medley: Chameleon, Pied Piper, Angel of Light.
Rock Medley: Stand Up, Not by Sight, Judas Kiss
Grave Robber
Mellow Medley: Why Should the Father Bother, Coloring Song, Road to Zion, More Power to Ya
Killing My Old Man
Backsliding Blues (like the one in NY 1983, with Bob and Greg sharing the mic)
Solos
Second Wind
Rose Colored Stain Glass Windows
Praise Medley: Praise Ye the Lord, Let Everything that hath Breath, Without Him we can do Nothing.
Godpleaser
Ask Him In
It is Finished

In fact, now that I went to all this trouble, maybe someone should just go ahead and forward it to Bob

Personally, I would like to see GXV at least try a song or two from BTTS. When I listen to that album, it always sounded to me like some of those songs were written for him in mind and I'd actually like to hear what it sounds like. The four that really pop up in my mind from that album are...

You are I Am
Thankful Heart
Fool's Gold
Run for Cover

Possibly, but I've never heard of a European release of the VHS. I have the US NTSC version (with the nice box) and I also an Australian release in a hard plastic case. The insert seems to be nothing more than a cut up LP cover with a sticker about distribution info. Is that similar to yours?

There also is a US BETA release.

Yes my copy is the same, all the ones in Australia were fitted with record cutouts... strange hey!

Yeah, it looks like it's a very cheap release to quickly make some extra dough. But at least it was released in Australia. And it's in PAL format which is of better quality than NTSC.
