Prayers for Petra

Heavenly Father:
We thank You that You hold all of the days of our life in Your hands. Lord, we recognize that while Your ways are not our ways, Your ways are infinitely best. We praise You that You promise that ALL things work together for the good of those who are called according to Your purpose.
Father, we want to lift up our brothers that have been a part of this organization called Petra. Lord, You know that they have touched many lives for You in the 30+ years that they shared the gift of music that You gave them. Today, Father, a group of our brothers have once again committed to minister through music under the banner of Petra. In fact, two groups of our friends and brothers are ministering under that moniker, as You know. While this has surprised many of us, we know that it did not surprise You.
Father, I pray for wisdom for everyone involved in this project. I specifically pray for Bob, Greg, Louie, John L. and Mark. Father, give them a unity of spirit and if there are any residual issues left from the past, I pray that Your Spirit would finish the work of that healing so that they may stand together in one accord. Father, I pray for John Schlitt. Lord, John has been a faithful servant for so many years and a vital part of the ministry of Petra. I pray that you would continue to guide him in his solo endeavors and increase his territory. Father, I pray that all the members of Petra, past and present could stand in unity before You and before the world. As Petra, in all of its incarnations, continue to share in the ministry of the Word through music, I pray that they present an undivided message of Your love, grace and forgiveness to the world.
Lord, forgive us our tendency towards gossip. Father, sometimes in our enthusiasm we let things get out of hand, and for that we pray for forgiveness. Help us to remember our job as brothers and sisters is to lift each other up...and these groups of men who minister through the gift of music. Lord, I pray that the Petra zone would set an example for Godliness among believers. Please help all of us put aside any hurt feelings or negative attitudes so that we can be a reflection of You.
Lord, may You be glorified in all things.
