The Petra Zone

I found an old copy of CCM from 1983 and it had some "Classic" Petra stuff in it. Thought you guys might like to see so here you go. There was also an interesting article about Kiss and Bob Larson that I scanned as well. It wont fit in this post so if you are interested in it I can get it to you some way. Thought the Petra stuff was way cool. Check out those way cool suits in that picture. Very Rock and Roll....Not!

Bob Larson is a total jack of all a double s's. What a fraudulant captializing sensationalist. Take anything he says, even "The sky is blue" and doubt it, check it then forget it.

That Petra logo is the one of the best band logos in Christian music. Hope they reuse that logo for classic Petra.

I used to listen to his show on a local AM station when I was in high school. All he would do is be mean to callers (who may have been plants, because no one really acts like that, and if they do they don't listen to Bob Larsen) and beg for money. I can't believe I listened to that stuff. In my defense, though, I was only 16. He claimed to be friends with Petra, although I can't see how after he bashed Christian rock horribly until the church started to accept it, and then he changed his tune. Sounds like the Petra song "Chameleon!"

He also had people calling in who were supposedly demon-possessed and/or had multiple personality disorder. Screaming on the phone in "satanic" voices and all that.
