I actually really like about half of Never Say Dinosaur.

Ditto. It's how I discovered Plankeye and Grammatrain and Passafist. Dinosaur obviously isn't for everyone.

Never say would have been better, imo, if they replaced the stinky half with good, big name bands from that time period. Guardian, PFR, and Whiteheart come to mind.

Though that's not one of Petra's strongest moments. It's an enjoyable song, but will never be an all time high.
I like a few songs off of Never Say Dinosaur. The songs by Grammatrain, Galactic Cowboys and Audio Adrenaline are more than decent. Of course Jars of Clay and Sixpence None The Richer are doing a good job with the songs they chose. And I always like Kevin Max (though I wasn't wise enough at the time this album was released to appreciate Louie's Solo). Oh, I shouldn't forget MxPx. They actually made 'I Can Be Friends With You' interesting for me!
The rest doesn't really impress me much. But still, half an album of good covers is better than a whole bunch of albums full of songs I already know and don't want to pay money for again if I want to keep the collection complete. Mind you, isn't it about time for a new greatest hits album? The most recent one is already three years old!!

My favorite song of Never Say Dinosaur is the last: "All The King's Horses" - Plankeye.

Jars of Clay and Sixpence None the Richer are still around.
