John will be the guest host with Doug Griffin on the Doug & Kim show on 94FM The Fish, a syndicated program that airs across the country on WED., Aug. 18 from 6-9 a.m. CST.

It was great to start the morning with hyper-John. Man, he talks fast! If he needs something else to do, he could be an auctioneer. The DJ played "Lord I Lift Your Name" TWICE, and John said something about when the record company released that song to radio, but I didn't catch it - my brain wasn't awake enough yet to keep up with his hyper-fast-talk. It sounded like he was having fun there.

He was having a ball and in his element!

Yes, he can talk fast - and when he gets on a roll - watch out! lol!

About Lord I Lift: they did play it twice... because that's the only song The Fish will play of Petra's. They won't play The Grafting or any of John's other solo works either, so they had to play the one song twice. But at least it got played!

The story about the song:

When PP2 was released, the record company first sent out "We Need Jesus" as the single. It did well, but Petra also wanted "Lord I Lift" to be a single. The label said no; too many artists have done it already and it won't fly.

Funny thing is: THAT song has gotten as much if not more airplay than We Need Jesus.

Trodland was gonna record the program; maybe he can splice the fun stuff together and we can put it on the website....?

Are you serious? That sounds silly. Why wouldn't they want to play anything besides Lord I Life Your Name On High??

Radio stations are weird that way. The CCM stations here in Dallas are like that. They occasionally play Lord I Lift Your Name, but nothing else. They used to play We Need Jesus, and Sleeping Giant. But the Christian rock station here plays more, they say they have about 20 Petra songs on their playlist.

They actually played the song "Lord I Lift..." 3 times !!!

The Fish has been that way for years. I've had a lot of issues with that network. The local Atlanta affiliate, 104.7, plays all kinds of crap, and I mean crap, during the Christmas season, including Mariah Carey.

That's why I always refer to them as 104.7 The FLESH.

Never really cared for that song. It's a crowd pleaser, so I endure it, as Brent endures Judas' Kiss.

But who am I to gripe? I can't write a song.
