I never had heard this band before, but when I listened to this song, mainly in the beginning of that, I remembered John.
But when the music begins to grow up and asked extra vocals power, the singer did not show the force of John's voice !!!

You're not the only one. My wife was also reminded of John's voice and I needed to convince that it wasn't John.
Ah, I wish we would get another hard rocking Petra album with John on vocals. Or another album like Unfit.

John would like to put out another album too... or even just a single.
It all takes bucks.... any one have a few laying around?
On a serious note - - a single could be made for around $2000-$3000, if John pulled some strings with Dan. Anyone looking for an investment?

Do singles really sell all that well if they don't have a full album backing them up? I can honestly that I've never bought a single, of any kind, in my life.

Yes, I think they can sell. I've bought lots of singles. I used to buy 45 rpm records back in the day, and I've bought several singles on ITunes. I've never been into the album concept all that much anyway.

Doesn't John have any access to equipment to do up a few demos of some new material? He might be able to generate more financial interest if he had something to give people a clue what he's planning musically.

Matthew, you can sing "la la la" as backup if you pony up the cash! lol!

hahaha....investment....oh no you di-ent.
The ONLY single I would pay for is "Never Been Any Reason"...cause it would have a wider audience. He would do it 10x better than Roger and his young guys.

NBAR as the only single? How do you know there's not one out there that hasn't been created yet that will blow the socks off of anything he's ever done before?
You just never know...

They have another very cool song - Sands of Time, from Gettin' Lucky. I think I even like it better than NBAR.

See this is where john should just go indie. He has a studio. He could record a decent album independantly that would sound good and he has enough of a fan base that he could make actual money that way. You don't have to have record deal. His albums were barely in stores anyway if you could find them. Sell them online. Everyone else does it.

I'll bet he could find a lot of good musicians, including on this board, that would record tracks for him gratis.

John IS indie. That is the problem. He can't tap into his savings to shell out $40k to make a record, in hopes of making it back, cause he won't...not on the web. He can't pay the 10k to a distributor to get it placed. He can't afford the management and publicist to get him out there.
It takes more than having a web site and web press. The problem is the same. How does John or anyone else get their music in the ears of the masses so the 1% will buy? People have to be steered to it. That will not happen on the web. Not for a Christian artist.
It's better to have someone who can afford to take a hit fund it. Anyone complaining about labels cannot get a deal. Without an industry connected loan shark...uh, I mean a label (or lots of money)....it is VERY hard to make it.

Heck, he could sing on a PDC tune for nothin'...haha. Imagine him singing "Hell No Heaven Yes".
