I was 10 yrs old in the spring of 1981 and to see them with my older brother. They opened up with where Can I Go, and Greg was sick so actually only sung on a few songs. Bob and Mark did the lead on most songs. NSD had not been released yet so they only sang The Coloring Song and Never Say Die from NSD. It was a short show maybe 60 min or so

Summer of 1991, I was 12 and heard I Am On The Rock from Beyond Belief at ToJo's Christian Family Campground in Elmvale, ON Canada.
The following year I saw Petra in Toronto, ON at Massey Hall with the Unseen Power stage design...AWESOME!

Beat the System Tour, 84 or 85. I would have been about 15 or 16, the concert was in Jamestown, ND and Randy Stonehill opened for them.

Man, you're all making me feel REALLY old and behind the times!

The year was Summer 1992 while driving my car into work with the radio on. I was 30-something.
the song was: Why Should the Father Bother

They didn't say who the artist was, so I had no clue. The next day I had the same station on again - and they played the SAME song at the same time. This time they said the artist - and I wrote it down.

The rest is history.

1985 - "It Is Finished" on the "Beat The System" cassette. While riding in a church van on U.S. Route 23 on our way to see Mylon LeFevre in concert in Johnson City, TN.

It was the first time in my whole life I had ever heard a band that I wanted to hear more of. Before that, I didn't actually like music at all.

I was 15 at the time.

I'm with you Sue. It was 1990 or '91. KLTY in Dallas - don't remember if I heard The Coloring Song or Why Should the Father Bother first. I thought both songs were cute. I was an undisclosed age.
